Unperfect Love

As I gaze out at the ocean blue
I find my thoughts drifting off to you
Wishing you were here with me
Discovering what "unperfect love" could be.

We'd sit on the beach hand in hand
Maybe build a castle in the sand
Swap some dreams we hope to come true
Talk of old memories, while making some new.

Put away old hurts to clear the heart
Make a pact that today's a new start
Share all our thoughts as we watch the ocean
Speak fondly of love, the world's strongest emotion.

A new memory to think of when you're feeling down
To bring a wistful smile, get rid of a frown
When you think of the "unperfect love" that day
The ocean's the place where you'll want to stay.
To Paul, with love.
