Tides of Love and Hate
Part 6

Oz looked over the library. It had been a couple days since he had been in there, which was unusual for him. He was usually in there just about every day. Unfortunately, his parents had scheduled a little family reunion which consisted of relatives going as far back as the fifteen hundreds. In other words, it had been hell.

But he was glad to be back in evil, old, Sunnydale. He was glad to be close to Willow again. And as he scanned the library, he realized she wasn’t there.

 “Where’s Willow?” he asked casually.

Xander and Giles assumed very awkward looks and poses, and Oz picked up on it right away.

 “What’s up?”

A small, pale hand slowly moved upwards towards Angel’s blissful face. Stroking the cheek gently, Willow moved her other hand around his shoulders, pulling him down for a sweet, gentle kiss.

 Angel purred.

Willow smiled inwardly. She liked the reactions she had been able to elicit from him that afternoon. Sitting there on the couch in the mansion, the two had most definitely made up. It almost made her forget that she was skipping school.

Angel purred again as Willow ran the tips of her fingernails down the back of his neck.

He likes it rough and soft, Willow thought happily. Good.

“Oz, I do believe you ought to sit down,” Giles said to the teenager standing in front of him.

Oz gave him a worried look, and sat down in the chair offered to him. Looking at Xander and then Giles with an unnamed expression on his face, he had to speak. “Well?”

Xander and Giles exchanged another uneasy glance. “Well, Oz, while you were gone, Willow got to fu-“ A sharp poke in the ribs came swiftly from Giles’ elbow.

“What he is trying to say, Oz,” Giles covered quickly, “is that we discovered another prophecy in your absence. And unfortunately, it affects Willow and Angel.” He removed his glasses and began to clean them nervously.

“Affect Willow and Angel? How so?” Oz inquired with naivete.

“They’re gonna screw.” This time, the poke came too late; Xander bust out with his usual thoughtless remark.

However, if anything was ever going to teach Xander a lesson about keeping his mouth shut, it was the look on Oz’s face when he heard what Xander had said. For what seemed like the first time, Oz let his stone-face drop, and Xander and Giles could see the real feelings on his face. Hurt, passion, love, hate, and disappointment all fell across his face. His eyes drooped, his jaw sagged, and his breathing quickened. Then, within seconds, he regained his composure and looked Giles in the eye.

 “Why.”

Giles blinked quickly and looked at the distraught senior. “We discovered a prophecy that affects them both…the phases of the moon affect the way that they feel about each other. The full moon brings more, um, romantic feelings, while the new moon introduces some rather, er, violent emotions.” The sound of glass cracking filled the quiet room after Giles was done. He looked down to see that while cleaning his glasses, he had shattered one of the lenses. Sighing, he put the glasses aside.

Oz did not stir from his seat. So many thoughts were whizzing through his head, he needed a moment to keep them straight. So Willow wasn’t screwing Angel of her own accord. It was a spell, a curse, anything except for her free will. And for Oz, that was good. But could this venture arise real feelings within the cursed couple? Oz realized that he would just have to deal if that happened.

“Okay,” he said strangely, stood up, and walked out of the library.

Xander looked at Giles, who had gotten up and was looking for another pair of glasses. “Well, that went well,” he said sarcastically.

Giles rolled his eyes. “Better than you.”

A pale hand slid down the tight leather, feeling an area of the male anatomy Willow had never felt before. But now, it felt right, like this is what she should be doing. She didn’t feel the least bit uncomfortable as Angel’s hand slid up and around her chest, taking in the feel of her breasts.

Willow knew what was going to come eventually. She wasn’t stupid, she knew what a guy and a girl did together. Buffy had even told her some of it, and that information had come in handy that day. All thoughts of school and the library had left her mind a long time ago, and the cursed couple had immersed themselves in learning each other’s topographic features, an endeavor that had proved most entertaining.

Angel’s shirt had been off for quite a while now, his hard chest already stroked and felt and kissed. Willow’s sweater had also been discarded, however only recently, and Willow moaned at the feelings Angel was able to elicit from her.

As the vampire lowered the witch further down on the couch, neither of them felt the one pair of eyes that was staring down at them.

 Hatred.

She was pretty damn sure it was hatred flowing through her veins.

 Or was it jealousy?

Possibly. She had the right to be.

It didn’t matter. All that mattered was that right now her best friend and boyfriend were feeling each other up on the couch in the mansion in the middle of the afternoon, and she was restricted to keeping her nose out of the business. That didn’t mean she couldn’t spy on them from a balcony in the sun.

And as Buffy watched the cursed couple below, she realized that maybe she should stop being pissed off and think about the situation.

Maybe. But for now, the bitch attitude was really helping.
