Fans of the World Wrestling Federation are used to seeing the absolute best in sports-entertainment, night in and night out. Every single superstar in the Federation gives 100% every single time he or she steps into the ring, determined to put on the most entertaining show possible. For a variety of reasons, people generally choose individual superstars to support based on personal taste… some people love to sing along with the Rock, while others label themselves as one of the Undertaker's "Children of the Night."
Me, I'm Edge's biggest fan.
I'll say it again, Edge is one of my favorite superstars in the entire Federation. I think he's got an incredible amount of charisma, is ultra-talented in the ring… he's even got a kick-ass theme song. In the last 12 months, he's entertained me more consistently than anybody else, and I'm hoping that Edge finally takes that final step and becomes one of the biggest names in the entire World Wrestling Federation.
No, I take that back. I already know that Edge is going to be a main eventer before long. I want for him to take that step now, because it's obvious to me that the enigma has finally pulled together all of the qualities needed to headline in the World Wrestling Federation.
You've probably noticed that all of the top superstars in the Federation have three things in common… they've all got incredible charisma, they all know how to put on an entertaining match in the ring, and they all have distinct individual personalities. You can apply this formula to any of the "main eventers", and discover that they all have an abundance of all of these qualities.
Edge has them all in spades.
Let me illustrate exactly what I mean. First, Edge's charisma…Hell, you must be living under a rock if you haven't noticed the incredible reaction that Edge has been receiving lately. As soon as the lights go down for his ring entrance, the entire crowd goes absolutely bonkers, a testament to the appeal inherent the Toronto native. Charisma is the one attribute that a superstar can't be taught, and it's one that Edge is practically swimming in.
As far as in-ring work goes, there are precious few superstars that are anywhere near his level. Edge makes up for his overall lack of bulk with an extremely quick and deceptively powerful offense. Just ask anyone that has felt Edge's spear… this guy can run with the big boys.
Actually, he could probably lay out any of the big boys if he tried.
Finally, now that Edge is slipping from under the shadow of the Brood, we're beginning to realize that he actually does have a personality of his own. We all saw the smile on his face after saving one of the Godfather's hos. We've seen the kinship that he has with Christian. This guy isn't just some wacko in a trenchcoat, he's actually a dynamic young man, and we're all seeing proof of that!
I believe that Edge is going to have a really good showing in his Intercontinental Title challenge at Fully Loaded. This is a perfect showcase for Edge to strut his stuff as a singles competitor, and should he be able to capture Jeff Jarrett's gold, any final doubts about just how formidable the Toronto native can be will be erased forever.
