"The Weldon, James W. File"

The Easy Stuff To Remember

Okay, this is a short deal to remember about me. Firstly, my full name is James William Joesph Weldon but really I go by either Jim, Jimmy, Doc, or even as extreme as Jimbo (that's a dad thing). I really dislike the name James 'cause it takes me back to my days in a catholic grade school where the sister's did not like me too much. I am currently in the United States Air Force and I'll break down my career as you explore my page. Right now I am at my home (permanent duty station) in Cheyenne Wyoming. I spent 21 years of my life in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I have one sister (Chrissy) along with my parents naturally...for all purposes, I was adopted when I was born. I am South Korean and I was born where the 1988 Summer Olympic Games were held in Seoul, South Korea. I have yet to even think about to go back 'cause honestly, I really don't want to. I love where I am at and well I am happier here.

The People Who I Call My "BEST" Friends

Ever since I was little I really never understood that I was "different" than my street friends. The street friends that I spent alot of my time with before high school are still the best gang of friends one could ever have. They are: Brian Richardson, Gregg Johnson, Scott Doyle, Steve Finkbinder, and Shane Wilkinson. These guys are the absolute best. As high school came around, we all found new friends along with the core that we had and after the infamous Camp Neuman Trip with the St. Dominic's Catholic Youth Organization, I wouldn't have met the people responsible for the creation of the crew that lives today. The crew that I left as I enlisted are incredibly the best group of friends that has influenced my life whether it was at parties or even at our league games we always hold...in no particular order: The WHOLE ENTIRE Margaritaville Crew, The Ghetto, Money Crew...etc. (*NOTE - it'll take up eternity for me to write all the names responsible so the crew "nicknames" is the easiest to breakdown the people)

Music...The Part That'll Never Die In Me

For me music came to me at a very early age. I remember how Michael Jackson's "Beat It" started me in the whole rock scene. I loved the dude who was all in white with the glasses 'cause he was kick-ass. I had tapes of "Licensed To Ill" by the Beastie Boys and Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears. My sister learned how to play guitar but she hated her teacher 'cause he was mean so she dropped it. By third grade, I heard in school about a new teacher and that she was a female...honestly, I thought she was Miss Coyne (who was the kick-ass teacher in fourth grade who played guitar at Masses and sung as well) so I signed up. I grabbed my sister's guitar and began my lessons. It turns out that it was NOT Miss Coyne but a lady who I'll remember as Kathy Stanger. My sight-reading talent has come through her, she loved how that I never played with a pick 'cause I thought that it would've been weird with one...(later on I played with a pick). She taught me the Top Gun Anthem, a song that was awesome for a fifth grader to play at that time. It was my first real song, then came...Welcome To The Jungle" & "No Sleep 'Till Brooklyn". The two songs that I enjoyed playing 'cause they rocked and they were real songs!!! After graduating grade school, high school brought a new challenge because new chords and such intimidated me which led me to take lessons at Howie Herbert's Music Center. Bob Herbert was my teacher and that's where I feel that my overall talent peaked or blossomed into what I am today. He showed me exercises to get my fingers flexibility and made things more ackward in learning...learning how to play a song wrong instead of right...it's weird but it works. The talent of learning by ear is accomplished that way. I've been playing for 15 years now and I don't see an end to it. Before I left for the Air Force, I had a band with a group of my friends...even though we lost two members, music to me wouldn't die. The three of us made an album and it was incredible, however, since I'm not there in Philly...I know I miss the band very much 'cause creating music and playing with these guys to me means the world to me. I miss you guys...

Sports...Is There Any More Besides Hockey???

This is the easist realm of mine since I am a sports fanatic. I played soccer and baseball for 10 years when I was younger. I was the infamous hardcore goaltender in soccer...I didn't mind taking out an opposing player who entered my box. Baseball, I was never a big hitter but I had the eye that gave me more walks than hits...I stole bases galore and defensively I was ungodly. Hockey is my primary sport and naturally I love talking about it, watching it, and playing it as well. You can keep track with my NHL rants and such on Gregg's Maddalo site. (Look for the Doctor's Office) The Philadelphia Flyers is my favorite hockey team...I mean really, I live in Philly and with a reputation of being called the "Broad Street Bullies" back in the 70's, you can't go wrong. Actually you can when you get a player named Eric Lindros who turns out to be a bust in the long run and missing out on the player that I absolutely worship...Peter Forsberg of the Stanley Cup Champions Colorado Avalanche. Him and the Flyers John Leclair (and w/the addition of Jeremy Roenick) are my favorite hockey players today. I love the E...A...G...L...E...S...EAGLES!!! Although the Kansas City Chiefs are my boys, the Eagles are the boys I root for overall. The Sixers, now...I feel that I am really one of the only big basketball heads besides my street gang...but absolutely w/o a doubt Allen Iverson is the best player in the NBA. The Phillies are good...love that kid Jimmy Rollins and Pat Burrell...I also love watching soccer (the women's team), the PGA tour, and NAScar. Sports is really big w/me obviously but don't think I am a couch potato 'cause I am not even close 'cause there's many things that I love doing so read on...

TV shows, sitcoms, cartoons...things like that also interest me. "Whose Line Is It Anyways?", "Friends", "The Simpsons", "Dragon Ball Z", "Scoobie Doo", "Dexter's Laboratory", "Ren & Stimpy", "WWF RAW is WAR & Smackdown", "Seinfeld" are my favorites...Dragon Ball Z is from being in the USAF and seeing that everyone loves this cartoon...it's really cool if you ask me.

That's about it...the things to know in a brief report by myself. I know there's more like movies and stuff but that'll be incorporated in something that I'll make up for this site sometime.

(pssst..."That Thing You Do", "Clue", "The Matrix", "Good Will Hunting", "Office Space", "Space Balls", "The Empire Strikes Back", "American Pie", "Die Hard", "Rocky II and III", "Gettysburg", "Braveheart", "Days Of Thunder", "City Of Angels", "Gone In 60 Seconds", "Top Gun", "Village Of The Damned" are my favorites...)
