"  A child melts a heart ....."

We're working on raising money for  AIDS orphans  for the coming Ethiopian X-mas (January 7th, 2000).  Christmas for Orphans is a project launched to help orphans sheltered at Dawn of Hope, an indigenous NGO established  by people living with HIV/AIDS. Dawn of Hope assists both people living with HIV/AIDS and orphaned children due to AIDS.

AIDS orphans face extreme economic uncertainty and are at higher risk of malnutrition, illness, abuse and sexual exploitation than children orphaned by other causes.  Additionally, AIDS orphans must face the stigma and discrimination that so often shadows the disease. This leaves them socially isolated, and often deprived of basic social services such as education. Ethiopia has become home to more than half a million  AIDS orphans.

For those of us whom are fortunate ....Christmas is a time  we look forward to......it's the day we celebrate the birth of our saviour gathered with friends and families  .......  exchanging gifts and sharing extravagent dinners.

But what about the most unfortunate........ children orphaned due to AIDS.....  our ones in the greatest despair........ It's a season of giving ....Let's give and work together to support Dawn of Hope's much appreciated continuous efforts to give their orphans a little more than a hot meal on christmas day.........
