"The Howl"

It comes mysteriously, as I gaze out my window
into the vast darkness, with only the light of the stars.
The moon is slowly rising, and shining in its glory.

Somewhere in the midst of all this wonder and glory, behold the sounding of...
'The Howl'.

A howl that calls all creatures from afar. The sound of it rising with the moon.
The sound so peaceful, yet so fierce. For all animals, respect the howling of the wolf.

I look beyond the hills and trees, searching from where the howl doth come.
But never i find the wolf on the prowl,
for he is mysterious and never been found.

I wake the next morn'
to begin my search,
To find not one paw print,
on the top of the mountain form.

No Tracks anywhere, no evidence at all,
that the howl came from here.

Was it just a dream? Was it just my imagination? Only time will tell.

I rest here tonight, so all will know its true,
The howl comes from here I say,
and ill prove it just for you!

I lie against a tree and wait,
as darkness surrounds me.
The stars come out twinkling and shining like never before,
and the moon rises, and it doth seem brighter than ever!

I run to the tip of the mountain,
to see if it was real,
and still I saw no wolf.
And just as I began to give up,
the howling hath just begun!

But I looked around,
and no wolf to be found.
I looked to the moon, so brightly it shown,
and caught to my surprise, the shadow of the wolf.

I asked the shadow, why do I not see you? He answered, I am just a shadows howl, and a glow upon the moon.

Young One, you'll never see me, for I no longer live.
I am now just a howl upon the moon.

There used to be a wolf young one, who'd sit there every night.
And howled so loud and clear, as he watched and stood guard all through the night.

But, young one, he passed away, leaving his shadow on my glowing face.
And to this day his howl sounds through out the night, and all the animals give reverence to this site.

So go rest young one and listen to the sound of....
