Meeting John Schneider Beauregard "Bo" Duke

Good fortune struck again! On May 10, 2000 while heading for a doctor's visit at Geisinger Medical Center, Drew Kelly and Ali Stevens in their 94KX radio van stopped in front of my General Lee, and told us that John Schneider would be at the local Children's Hospital signing autographs. (For those of you who don't know ... John Schneider is co-founder of the Children's Miracle Network which raises funds for research and treatment of children's illnesses.) We parked the General Lee and after my appointment, we headed for the hospital lobby hoping to get an autograph, but, we received much more. In addition to the autograph, Mr. Schneider liked my car and even sat in the driver's window for photographs. He also autographed the inside of the trunk lid. Mr. Schneider was a really super guy, very freindly and easy to talk to and we were impressed by his sincere concern for the children. The autographs are wonderful, but what we didn't expect is the pleasure we had watching handicapped children looking at the car and smiling with pleasure. It all made for a really awsome day to remember! Thanks, John!
