“Call and I'll answer at home in the lost and found. You say that I'm much too proud. Someone who's taking pleasure in breaking down. Nevermind the mannequins, drunk in their hollow town, Drinking their spoils down, cheap imitations. The revelation is now. You won’t find me I'm going MIA. Tonight I'm leaving going MIA. Getting lost in you again is better than being numb. Counting every minute till the feeling comes crashing down. Run when it hits the ground, I'm good at escaping. But better at flaking out. Calling unanswered the center becomes blown out. Stuck on the inside now. It's fear I'm embracing. I never could face you down. Red, red, laced around your head. Cold and rescued. You won’t find me I'm going MIA. Tonight I'm leaving going MIA. So you don't find me I'm going MIA. Tonight I'm leaving going MIA. Say good-bye to me I'm going MIA. I can find relief I'm going MIA. Getting lost in you again is better than being numb. Better than playing dumb.” –“MIA” by the Foo Fighters.

The Backstreet Boys were at the height of their career when their fourth album was released showing the critics that they still had what it takes to be the world’s top act. After finally winning a Grammy for best pop album they were about to embark on their world tour for their album, with high expectations from fans and critics alike, when their world came crashing down.
AJ McLean had just gotten his life back in order and was planning to get married to his longtime girlfriend, Lorelei. McLean had been struggling with alcohol abuse and had finally been able to put the bottle away for good he said.
Brian Littrell was planning on trying to start a family with his wife Leigh Ann, even though he knew it was going to be hard raising a family on the road. He had even gone so far as to equip his bus for a baby crib, diaper table and had made sure to remove all sharp corners or edges.

Nick Carter had become one of the most famous people in the world and had been put in People’s 50 most beautiful people as well as the sexiest male pop star. Nick had been writing songs for the Backstreet Boys as well as producing another band.
The world thought the Backstreet Boys had never been better and were finally getting the respect they deserve. On the night of March 7 2002 it all changed though. Now a full year later no one knows what happened, but it changed the five lives of the Backstreet Boys forever. On March 7,2002 Nick Carter disappeared from the world not leaving any clues to where he was going or what he was going to do. To this day people still claim to have seen him, some kind of ghost almost who has been traveling the world.
All that we are sure of about Nick Carter’s disappearance to this day is that it will probably never be solved. There are rumors going around that it is everything from Carter’s planned exit, media hype or even to homicide. Since that day though the Backstreet Boys have quit the music business as a group and will not come back until Nick Carter returns. And that will probably never happen.
