The Houtzdale Regional Police Department serves the borough of Houtzdale and contracts services to our neighbors, Osceola Mills Borough and Ramey Borough. We also work with the Decatur Township Police through mutual aid agreements to provide the best service possible to our residents.

MUNICIPAL DATA:

The Houtzdale Regional Police Department's coverage area is mainly rural. Houtzdale Borough has a population of 1204 with a total of 579 families and has an area of 1.446 square kilometers. Osceola Mills Borough has a population of 1310 with a total of 539 families and an area of 0.873 square kilometers. Ramey Borough has a population of 536 and 228 families and an area of 2.323. square kilometers. All municipalities are located in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania..

The Mission of the Houtzdale Regional Police Department is to provide the best public service possible to the citizens and visitors of our community. This service is based on professional and ethical standards without regard to race, color, creed, age, sex, religion or national origin. Our Mission includes preserving the peace and order of our community in a manner that is fair and unbiased in all of our dealings with the public.

DEPARTMENT K-9





Spin is an eight year old Belgian Malinois and has been responsible for numerous drug finds in Central Pennsylvania. In addition, Spin has tracked several robbery suspects and has been instrumental in locating evidence during article searches. Spin has also located suspects during area searches and has made criminal apprehensions during her career. The Houtzdale Regional Police K-9 Unit is on call twenty-four hours a day and responds to any other department's request for K-9 assistance. The K-9 Unit also provides locker and parking lot searches for various area school districts.

Project ChildSafe:

The Houtzdale Regional Police Department, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Justice and the National Shooting Sports Federation (NSSF), will be providing 1000 free firearms safety kits to residents of Houtzdale, Osceola Mills and Ramey Boroughs. Each kit contains a safety curriculum and a cable-style gun lock. The locks fit most types of handguns, rifles and shotguns. The goal is to prevent a child or any unauthorized person from accessing firearms in your home. The kit is free and can be picked up at the Houtzdale Municipal Building during normal business hours.
