Personal

Jaromir Jagr spent most of the off-season in his hometown of Kladno, Czechoslovakia, where he was born and raised. He is a very dedicated citizen of Czechoslovakia, and has often claimed he would not marry any girl who wasn't a Czech.

Jagr was the first Czechoslovakian player to attend an NHL draft without having to defect. His general interests (beside hockey!) are listening to music and playing tennis. He enjoys traveling as well, and playing hockey allows him to do plenty of traveling. He is also interested in his heritage and Czechoslovakian history. His mother has lived with him in Pittsburgh the past three seasons and he has one older sister named Jitka.
