~Our Marriage~
hen I first saw you my breath you took away.
Such beauty, such grace, with me, I thought you must stay.
And as I uttered those two words to you,
Never did I imagine what was in store for us two.
And as my love grew more and more alive,
We became a family of not three not four but five.
And now that they are grown and starting their own families,
You decide that whats best for you is to also leave.
Why? I said, must you do that now?
Where would you go? When? and How?
Little did I know you had it all planned out,
To leave me alone after our last bout.
All I can say now is I wish you the best.
For after all our marriage was just like the rest.
Why couldn't it have remained as when we first met.
We were the best of lovers, friends, and I bet.
That at one time you loved me too,
Almost as much as I loved you.
And as I wonder why our marriage had to die.
Now the time has come to say good-bye.
But I want you to remember still,
I love you now and I always will.
