~You Said No~

I remember not that long ago,
When I asked you out and you said no.
You thought that I was too young for you.
You were three and I was two.
We always were together, we played, we had fun.
And little did you know that I would be the one,
To someday steal your heart away,
And make you with me forever stay.
As we grew older and wiser I did realize,
That I was given the most wonderful prize.
A love so pure, so sweet, so refine.
Never did I imagine someday you would be mine.
For I still remember that time long ago.
When I asked you out, and you said no.
And now that we are not together,
I think about that time when we were young and never,
Can I imagine that we weren't meant to be,
when I was two and you were three.
But in my heart I truly knew.
That you would be mine and I'd be with you.
For God had given me the love of my life.
And I'm proud and lucky to have called you my wife.
And come to think of it, God had to know.
When I asked you out, that you would say no.
And so I say to you my love.
That someday soon, we will be together again above.
And when I see God I will thank Him and then,
Remind Him of that wonderful day when,
We were playing outside in the beautiful white snow
When I asked you out and you said no.
