"Oh Kate I'm so very sorry why didn't you tell me sooner than this I could've helped you out how long as it been" Nick questioned pulling Kate to him for a tight hug.
"Cause' you've had your own problems Nick I didn't want to add to them and make things worst" Kate answered with a sob.
"Kate you know I would've helped you as much as you've helped me out. Beside I like you very much" Nick exclaimed leaning back some to look into Kate puffy eyes as he wiped some tears away.
For once there was hope in her eyes not sadness or angry yet, she still resented the guy who did this to her family. However she did feel better now once she had told Nick the truth even if it had been the short version. After a long talks both Nick and Kate cuddled up too one another with Nick's arms tightly wrapped around Kate and fell asleep. The next morning Kate was the first to awake to find herself with her hand on Nick's bare chest and her head resting on his right biceps. She watched him sleep peacefully for the first time in the last few weeks. She thought how handsome he looked with the sunlight filtering though the window to shine just barely on his face. She watched him sleep knowing that a real relationship with him would never work out they both had thing's that neither of them knew or were even sure about. However, she didn't just want to push him away like she had done to so many in the pasted. Kate watches his face intently as he stirred slightly then woke up to see Kate looking at him.
"Morning handsome how did you sleep"? Kate questioned.
"Very well with you beside me what about you" Nick replied pulling her close to him.
"Hmm same here it was a lot warmer with you beside me" Kate answered her cheek turning a light shade of pink with her eyes looking down.
"Oh how sweet you're blushing you don't have to be embarrassed about that" Nick stated raising Kate chin to look into her eyes.
"I know it's just it sounded corny I guess anyway what are you going to do today"? Kate asked trying to get out of bed.
"I was thinking that maybe you and me would sleep in then have fun" Nick answered pulling Kate back to him.
"Hmm that sounds nice but if you remember correctly I have a job to get to" Kate answered falling back into bed all most on top of Nick.
"Yea but you can call in sick beside you deserve a break" Nick argued.
"Will I don't know I just had off I can't call in sick I'm the best they have" Kate smiled proudly.
"What about me you never have spent the hole day with just me come on please stay with me today" Nick begged.
"Well oh all right it has been at lease two months you better not make me regret this Mister" Kate answered getting up to call work.
"I promise I wont don't worry now go make that call" Nick exclaimed letting Kate get up.
"I'm going I'm going gees give me sometime" Kate replied with a laugh.
"Well I'm cold so hurry up" Nick replied with a smirk.
Has she walked into the living Kate spotted an envelope by the door so she detoured to get it. Thinking it was nothing important that couldn't wait she just dropped it on her deck and calls her job. Five minutes later Kate returned with a sad look on her face.
"What's wrong did your boss say no" Nick asked sitting up in bed not even realizing that all he had on was his boxers.
"No he said yes I just thought I'd try and foul you beside business is slow and not may thing's need to get done sent they were already done" Kate replied with a grin.
"Why you little scamp I thought you were going to say that you couldn't now you're in trouble" Nick stated grabbing a hole of Kate and pulling her to him while tickling her mercilessly.
"OK OK I'm sorry please stop Nick I can't breath please" Kate begged though laughter and tears.
"Only if you say that I'm the hottest guy you've ever seen" Nick stated tickling her more.
"NO no please don't make me it would be a lie no I can't" Kate managed to get out in between laugh's.
However, when Nick stopped Kate got worried she did something wrong. Immediately she pulled away from Nick and got up.
"What's wrong Nick why did you stop for" Kate asked looking at Nick.
"It doesn't matter why I did it I just did" Nick answered looking away from Kate.
"Nick come on please tell me what's wrong please talk to me" Kate begged turning Nick's face back to her's.
"It's just well I don't know you see I remember that fans some of them would say I was fat or that I didn't sing well. It hurt me even my ex-girlfriend of what I remember she never treated me nicely" Nick explained with a frown.
"I'm sorry Nick I didn't mean what I said I was just joking I know how people can hurt you with the words they say it does hurt very much. And I'm sorry for it Nick" Kate answered cupping Nicks face in her hands.
"It's OK I should've known that you didn't mean it anyway let's get onto a better subject than this what are we going to do today" Nick retorted getting up and pulling Kate with him.
"Well hmm there's not much to do around here we could go into town" Kate offered looking around her closet to find something to wear.
"Not really let's just stay around here today and maybe find something to do" Nick replied leaving to get dressed.
After Kate had finished getting ready she walked over to what has been Nick's room for the last two and a half months.
"Well I'm going to make breakfast what would you like" Kate asked leaning up against the door frame
"Anything is fine with me Kate" Nick answered pulling a shirt over his head.
She walked over to her deck first to get the letter once opened she unfold it and started to shake.

A few minutes later Nick walked out of his room to see Kate standing by her deck clutching and unclenching her fist.
"What's wrong Kate what's this letter on the floor here" Nick asked walking over to Kate to pickup the latter.
However, before he could she scooped it up and put it away before he had a change. Then stated "Nothing you have to worry about Nick so I'm going to make breakfast you go get some wood for me please"."Sure thing are you sure you're OK though" Nick asked concerned.
"Yea I'm fine" Kate responded then left of the kitchen.
The hours flew by quickly like all winter days do and soon it was night again. Nick and Kate were sitting on the front porch just taking in the cold winter's night the beauty of the mountains and the peacefulness of the time. Days' and weeks pasted by like a blue for some but not the remaining Backstreet Boys the search for the missing member was still coming up with nothing. The release of Black and Blue came and went. The CD sold millions braking and setting records all over the world. Fans loved the new album but felt sadden for Nick wasn't there to share it with them. When the results came back the next week after the date release everyone was stunned and excited yet, a cloud remained over the whole thing. Black and Blue keep on making and braking records well into Thanksgiving and on to Christmas. Many thought that it would die down but it never did the fans wouldn't let it they would let them go or down. Christmas Eve was something to be remembered by all the member's of the Backstreet team.
"Man have you seen the stats on the album Kev we've sold over 24million records so far"? AJ exclaimed excited yet, his face fell.
"Yea I have" Kevin answered not to enthusiastically.
"Ya miss him don't ya"? AJ questioned coming to the right side of Kevin.
"Yea I do Bone what has it been almost three months now and still no sign of him. God I just wish he was here with us were can he be" Kevin exclaimed tears evident in his eyes.
"Hey guy's whatch doin' out here" Brian asked as he made his way over to them.
"Nothing Bri just chatting" Kevin responded not even look at Brian.
"Oh you want me to go then"? Brian asked turning to leave.
"NO no stay and Kev you can't keep beating yourself up for this he'll be found don't worry about it as much" AJ exclaimed.
"I know it's just so hard we've all ways been together all five of us and now one is missing. And what are we going to do if…. If" Kevin couldn't even finish that thought as the tears fells down his face.
"Don't think like that Kevin he'll be found alive and well and ready to come back to us trust me" Howie responded as he rounded the corner and walking out the bay door's of Kevin's Florida home.
"Thank D but how can I not" Kevin exclaimed looking away from then all.
In response to them Howie grabbed a hold of Kevin and gave him the biggest hug he could Brian and AJ joined in the group hug. Once they pulled apart they looked at each other and smiled knowing that thing's would turn out better.
"Well there's a party let go have some fun," AJ exclaimed walking over to the door.
"You guy's go ahead I'm going to stay out here for a while go have fun for me" Kevin stated as they left he turned back to look out over the ocean.
"Kev is there anything wrong" Kristen small voice asked coming around the corner after a few minutes.
"No nothing wrong Kris well yea there everything" Kevin replied tuning to face his wife.
"Well then I'll leave you alone so you can think I'll be inside if you need me" Kristen retorted turning but was stopped as she felt a strong hand on her shoulder.
"Please don't go Kristen I need to talk to you I'm sorry for the way I've acted the last couple of months. I shouldn't have turned away from you like that I'm sorry if I've hurt you in any way" Kevin exclaimed pulling his wife to him in a warm embrace.
"I know Kevin I know I'm worried about Nick to but like Howie said he'll be back I know. I don't know how I do but I do" Kristen retorted holding onto Kevin.
"I know and I shouldn't be thinking like that thank you for understanding Kris I love you honey" Kevin stated pulling Kristen back slightly to kiss her passionately.
Meanwhile back in Boulder.
"So how does everything look"? Kate asked as she came back into the living room with two cups of hot chocolate.
"Very good all most like home" Nick replied taking the cup from Kate. "Thanks but I think something's missing what I just can't put my finger on it" Kate exclaimed walking around the room.
She was so into what she was doing that she never noticed Nick get up from his place in the couch. Walk very slowly up behind her Nick grabbed her by the waist and pulled her into his arms.
"This is all that is missing you right here in my arms" Nick answered.
"Oh really" Kate responded running her hands up and down his arms.
"Yes really you need to take a brake hon. before you wear you're self out" Nick exclaimed trying to get her to sit down.
"Ohh but Nickolas let's go outside and sit on the pouch I want to see the sunset" Kate replied this time she was doing the pulling.
"OK fine with me" Nick gave in as they walked outside.
"Man look at that Nick God it's beautiful" Kate commented as they watched the sunset.
"Hmm very beautiful"! Nick replied not even looking at the sunset.
"Nick you're not even looking and why do you keep staring at me like that for"? Kate questioned.
"No reason just admiring the view is all" Nick responded pulling Kate even closer to him.
"Oh you charmer behave" Kate exclaimed smacking Nick's arms slightly.
"What I'm telling you the truth is that so wrong" Nick stated defending himself.
"No but you're just trying to get something out of me" Kate augured then went on "so fess up what is it".
"Nothing but I do have something for you" Nick returned getting up from his spot to go into the house.
"OK but you better hurry I'm getting cold" Kate exclaimed sitting back into the swing.
"Cold is not all you're going to feel little one soon very soon" James exclaimed as he stocked around the house watching Kate and Nick.
Five minutes later Nick walked back out to Kate with a small green wrapped package in his hand he presented it to her then sat down.
"Hmm I wonder what it could be" Kate questioned aloud as she shook the box.
"Just open it my dear and you'll find out" Nick replied apprehensive that she would not like it.
"All right I'll open it" Kate replied pulling the green shiny paper back reviling a black velvet box.
She looked up at Nick then back at the box carefully opening it to revile a small heart locket with a diamond in the middle.
"Oh Nick it's beautiful but why how did you afford it?" Kate questioned looking up at Nick once more.
"You don't have to worry about how much it cost that my job and why I got it for you. Is because I care for you and it all so a thank you for all the help you've gaven me" Nick replied taking the necklace out and attempting to put it on Kate.
"I.. I can't except it Nick I don't deserve it please take it back" Kate exclaimed getting up.
"But why I got it for you no one else please except it with my love" Nick responded walking over to her.
She turned to him seeing something in his eyes that scared her deeply.
'Is he falling in love with me' Kate asked herself.
"All right I'll except it" Kate answered turning so he could put the necklace around her neck.
'Why the hell isn't he answering his phone dam it Sam pick up you puss I need to talk to you' James exclaimed pacing back and forth though his hotel room.
"Finally you pick up the dam phone where the hell have you been Sam. I've been calling you for the last fifteen minutes?" James questioned.
"Well good to hear from you to James you know the whole f##king world doesn't revolve around you and you're dammed obsession with this girl" Sam spat.
"Whatever you puss did you get the information I need?" James asked finally sitting down.
"Yea the guy is suppose to be some super star by the name of Nick Carter and by the way I took care of the four problems we had here so she's all you're" Sam responded looking through some of his file's.
"Perfect" James purred as he hung up.
"You welcome shit head" Sam stated slamming the phone down.
'And that was the thanks I get of all the hard work I did gees I wonder what he would do if I got him something even bigger' Sam thought to himself as he heard a knock at the door.
"Who is it" Sam asked coming to his door.
"Oh just a friendly little visitor" a soft female voice stated.
Sam slowly opened the door but then it suddenly burst out and Sam fell backwards to the floor.
"What the hell" was all Sam could get out before everything went black.
"Wait here I have something for you as well" Kate exclaimed as she walked quickly into the house.
Five minutes later she returned with a big sack filled with different items she handed it to Nick who sat down to open it.
"How did you know I need more of these man look at all of this how did you manages to get it all with out me knowing about it?" Nick questioned her. As he took out three sketchpads, with many colored pencil's, and pens.
"I have my way's Mr. Carter most of which you can never know" Kate replied with a mischievous grin.
"Oh is that so well then I guess I'll just have to settle of not knowing" Nick exclaimed has his bottom lip pocked out in a pout.
"Oh don't do that don't give me that look stop it" Kate wined trying to look away from Nick.
"But why not I like this look" Nick retorted pulling Kate close.
'I shouldn't be doing this what about James I know something I still going to happen God why haven't the girl's called me' Kate thought to herself as she looked into Nick blue eye's.
"Cause' I don't like that look you look too cute when you do that" Kate replied.
"Oh so you think I'm cute hu" Nick stated with an air of smudginess.
"So what if I do it's not like you can do anything about it" Kate shot back getting up quickly so that Nick didn't catch her.
"Oh there plenty of things I can do to you my dear plenty" Nick returned getting up and slowly walking over to Kate.
"Is that so Mr. Carter well I'd like to see you try" Kate laughed as she ran back into the house.
"You just wait I'll catch you my dear" Nick yelled running after her.
After ten minutes of running around the house Nick finally caught a hold of Kate they both fell down into the couch laughing.
"See I got you" Nick exclaimed triumphantly holding Kate very close to his body.
"Oh and what do you plan on doing with me now" Kate questioned. Her back was to Nick face his arms firmly around her waist.
"Hmm now that is something I have to think about" Nick returned with a thoughtful look on his face.
"Well you better hurry up I still have to make dinner you know" Kate exclaimed trying to wiggle out of Nick's arms.
"Yea I'm hungry to begin with you need any help" Nick questioned letting Kate up.
"You're always hungry boy and no it's quit all right I can manage dinner by myself but thanks for asking" Kate responded getting up.
Before she could get anyway Nick pulled her back to him face first. He leaned down brushing his lips softly up against her's slowly starting to kiss her. At first Kate wanted to pull away knowing that this was all wrong that letter stuck out in her mind so much. Yet, her heart was unwilling to let him go she didn't know what or how he had crept his way into her heart but he had and as far as she could tell he wasn't leaving anytime soon.
"Hmm that was nice now I've got to cook dinner if you want find a good movie and some music for us" Kate stated once the kiss had ended.
"You got it baby" Nick replied as they parted company.
A half an hour later dinner was ready as Kate was getting thing's set up on the table she heard the song 'True to you're heart' start to play.
"May I have this dance my dear?" Nick asked his hand out stretched waiting for Kate's.
"Yes you may kind sir" Kate responded as Nick twirled Kate into his arms.

"That was nice you're a very good dancer Mr. Carter" Kate exclaimed after the dance was over.
"I'm glad you think so Kevin taught me a little he was a ballroom dancer before coming to Orlando. He's really the best" Nick replied.
"Hey you remember that that's good you've been remembering more and more lately" Kate stated a little sadden for she knew that this now would end soon. She looked down and backed slowly away from Nick going into the kitchen for dinner while stating "We better eat before it gets cold".
"Yea you're right" Nick replied knowing that something was wrong but didn't want to press.
"So what movie did you pick for us to watch?" Kate asked as she sat down opposite Nick.
"Uhh the new X-MEN (In my opinion one of the best movies out there go check it out) movie if that OK with you" Nick answered just poking at his food.
"Something wrong Nick you seem distance?" Kate questioned looking at him quizzically.
"No nothing I was just thinking about something is all" Nick replied taking a bite.
After dinner was finished and all the dishes were cleaned and put away. Kate put the movie in and they both sat down on the couch to watch curled up to one another Kate had fell asleep with her head resting on Nick shoulder. He looked down at her and smiled but the smile quickly faded as the realization hit him that soon he would have to get back to the life he lead before all of this happened. That would mean he would have to leave her but he didn't want to. Day, week, and months flew by like hours New Year eve and day pasted. It was now 2001 and everything was going good James had laid off for now but of course would be back. Thing's fell into place but to Nick it felt like slowly he was losing the one thing he didn't want to ever lose. Kate on the other hand slowly was trying to pull herself away from Nick but finding it a bit difficult to do the more she tried the more she found she loved him. Soon Nick had remembered all of which he had lost to the plane crash and Kate knew it was soon that he would be leaving her. Before long it was Nick's birthday came upon them and Kate was going to make sure it was a good one.
"So what do you want for you birthday?" Kate questioned the day before.
"Hmm I don't know anything is fine with me why what are you planning" Nick replied giving Kate a mischievous grin.

After work Kate made sure you went back to the market to pick up the thing's she need for dinner and Nick's cake she was planning on making. Coming home to noticed that Nick was no were to be seen worried she walk all around looking around for him.
