.:Anywhere For You-Chapter 12:.
Chapter Twelve

As the weeks passed, the tension between Kevin and A.J. and Beth and A.J. rose and fell. Most of the time, A.J. was mad at one of them out of jealousy. Beth and Kevin just got along like old times, even the fact that Beth was continually in need of Kevin's comfort and sympathy which he gave willingly. Beth felt useless due to the fact that she did not have a job and was living off of Kevin's income. She had applied to every job she could find through the newspaper and internet, and she either got no response or she was told that they were not hiring at the moment.

Then the day came. A company called the house and she had answered. They were offering her a job, which she immediately accepted, without really thinking about it. The only problem was that the job was in Pittsburgh, and she was living in Orlando. If she had recieved this job offer a couple months ago, she would not have had any problem leaving. No one had become friends with her. The people she approached would initiate in a conversation with her, but no one ever connected with her, and then she met A.J. and reunited with Kevin and found friends.

When Kevin left to visit with the other boys and start regrouping to do a new album one day, she sat down at the kitchen table with two pieces of paper and a pen in hand. She had decided the best way to make her decision about the job was to make a list of positives and negatives. Whichever side had the most things listed, she would go along with. After working on her lists, she sat back and looked at her results. She was horrified! The list that favored accepting the job had won, and deep down in her heart she wanted to stay. She felt so safe and invincible with Kevin and the boys. That night everyone was going out to dinner. She promised herself that she would make her announcement then, but she knew she would need all of the courage she could gather from within herself because this was going to be hard.

She slowly stood up, climbed the stairs, and walked into Kevin's room. She sat down on the bed a took a good look around. She thought about his personality and tried to predict what kind of reaction he would have. Beth also thought that maybe she should tell Kevin before the others, mainly because they were closer. She drew her legs up, rested her head on her knees, and leaned against the headboard and closed her eyes. Thoughts of simplicity raced through her head. How did she always manage to make things more complicated than they needed to be? Slowly, the bedroom door creaked open and she heard footsteps. She really didn't want to talk to anyone at that moment.
