.:Anywhere For You-Chapter 3:.
Chapter Three

"All of you like to waste time, don't you?" Howie asked after the four had gotten into the car.

"Oh yeah!" the four laughed in unison.

"So who's the doctor and who's the stranger?" Howie asked.

"I am the doctor. Howie, don't you even recognize me? My name is David Larson."

"Yeah," Howie added. "I knew that!"

"No, you didn't!" Beth and A.J. said at the same time.

"I know, but it sounded better. So who is she?" Howie said.

"Honestly, I don't know! But her name is Beth," A.J. said.

"Classic, Bone. Dragging around a girl that you don't even know!!" Howie said, shaking his head.

"Sorry to burst your bubble, D, but I was the one that was dragging her around and I do know her. I have known her longer than I've known you!" Kevin retorted.

"Oh. So she is....?"

"Elizabeth Lauren Meyers. She's my best friend from Kentucky."

"That's me! Kevvy, here, and I used to sit in his yard in our diapers and see who could get messier!" Beth informed the others.

"And she also happens to be the only person that can call me Kevvy and live to see the next day." Kevin threatened.

"Is that a threat?" A.J. asked.

"No. It's a promise."

"You guys never change, do you?" David asked.

"Nope, never!" Beth said.

"But you don't even know us," Howie whined.

"I know Kevvy so well it makes up for it."

"So did you and Train...um...were you ever more than diaper buddies?" A.J. asked.

"In high school, yes," Kevin said.

"And you're still friends?! You gotta teach me your secret, man!"

"Well, we were going out and everything, but my parents got divorced and it was a really hard time for me. Ya'll know Kevvy's psychic? He knew I needed a true friend instead of a boyfriend. So he saved me from my own family really. This happened when he was seventeen and I was fifteen. I got skipped up and I was young to begin with, so we had two years difference, but were in the same grade. Kev's family was still working at the camp and retreat so Kev had his own apartment near school so he didn't have a forty minute ride just to go to high school. Kevvy was so kind. He took me into his place the first day I found out and he just held me for hours while I cried my eyes out. Then the second day I was lethargic and I moped around a lot. By the third day, Kev was trying to find ways to cheer me up. He ended up taking me in and letting me live with him. I have actually lost all contact with my family. Kevin is really my only family and he isn't even related to me." Beth told all of them. It secretly broke A.J.'s heart that she had to suffer through such a past. He was drawn to her as soon as he saw her and now the attraction had grown.

"I hate to interrupt your trip down memory lane, but Brian needs help," David said. "If you can't get me there soon, I can honestly say that you will be part of his death. Don't you want him to live?"
