"Brian, what's wrong with you? You haven't seen Drew in months!" Nick said.
"Nothing is wrong with me! I saw him today. Stop looking at me like that. I wasn't hallucenating! I did see him!" Brian shot back.
"David, could you check him out and make sure he's okay?" Kevin asked.
"Sure thing, Kevin." David responded and got to work. He checked his reaction time and his reflexes and other involuntary actions. Then he checked his blood pressure and his heart. He did not find anything wrong, even his heart was in perfect condition. He then started asking questions about his home in Kentucky, the Backstreet Boys, his family, and his statistics. Everything was fine.
"Kevin, he's fine," David responded calmly. "Maybe, you should call the young man he supposedly saw today."
"Good idea. Does anyone know the number?" Kevin asked.
"I do," Brian responded and then recited the number.
"I'll talk," Nick said as he snatched the phone away from Kevin.
"Sprout, wassup?...Oh, sorry, Nick. I thought you were Drew. So is Drew around? I really need to talk to him...Sure, I'll wait...Oh, hey, Jeff...Yeah, we're at Howie's house. We all are, plus some other people...Yeah, all of you can come over just make sure you find Drew and that he comes...Very funny. Yes, I do care about you, Nicky, and Justin...Aww, shut up and come over...Yeah, see ya soon."
"What was that all about, Kaos? You certainly were living up to your name!" A.J. asked.
"Gimme a break. You didn't have to talk to them!" Nick retorted.
"You wanted to! Who said they could come here?" Howie asked.
"Bye, Howie, A.J., Nick, Brian, Kevin, and Beth," David called as he walked out the door. "I'm leaving. My friend lives down the street. If you have any problems, well health problems, call me at the hospital."
"Bye." Nick called, then turned to talk to Howie, " I did. You got a problem with that?"
"No, I guess not." Howie said softly, almost apologetically.
"Um, so, does anyone want anything to drink?" Howie asked. A chorus of "no's" followed the question.
"Uh, I might not be the one who should be saying this, but I have a feeling something bad is going to happen," Beth said nervously.
