.:Ten Thousand Promises-Chapter 26:.
Chapter Twenty-Six

After everyone else had cleared out of the kitchen, Pollyana and Angel hooked up, and got the idea to make a cake together. They wanted to make a big one, big enough to share for the two birthdays, and possibly even the third, Justin's. First they rummaged through cupboards until they finally found what they had been looking for, cake dishes.

The next thing they needed they did not come across so easily. The two searched the kitchen, but could not find a cookbook!

"There has to be one in this house somewhere, but where on Earth could they have put it?" Pollyanna asked. She was thinking aloud, but it influenced Angel to think of a fairly decent idea.

"Let's ask one of the ten stupid and unorganized boys that live here!" Angel suggested.

"Good idea, Angel. You can ask one of them and while you're doing that, I am going to scan through the book cases in the TV room." Pollyanna stated, and the two parted.

Angel wandered up to the bedrooms upstairs. She started in Brian and Nick's room, since it was the one she was most familiar with. Her luck helped her. She found Brian sitting in the room with his eyes close, humming, and thinking intensely. Angel could tell that obviously he was working on some songwriting, but she also knew that he was always helped by interruptions and short breaks. She walked in and stood looking at him until he noticed her.

"Oh, hi, Angel! What brings you here?" Brian asked.

"I was looking for you or one of the nine other unorganized guys that live in this house!"

"Ooh, that hurts. Nice insults, shorty!"

"Funny...not! But seriously, where do you keep a cookbook? Polly and I are trying to make a birthday cake for the three insane psyco-ish people that have their birthdays today and three days from now."

"It's in the obvious place!"

"Where's that?"

"Follow me."

"Piggyback?"

"No thank you."

"Cute, Mr. Polite. Ready?"

"I guess I don't have a choice," he said as he crouched down to let Angel on.

"Thank you very much, kind sir!"

Brian marched out of the room and down the hall. He reached the stairs and started going down. Suddenly Brian slipped and let go of Angel. Brian regained his balance, but Angel was sent flying. With a loud crack she hit the ground.
