The night before you were born I began feeling much stronger contractions. Aunt Amy and I went for a walk to see if they would get any closer, but they remained at 8 minutes apart. Aunt Amy kept saying that she was going to be so mad if I delivered you right after she had to leave the next morning. We talked until late that night and the contractions stayed at 8 minutes apart which frustrated us. We both wanted Aunt Amy there for the "big event".
The next morning I awoke and sure enough the contractions were STILL 8 minutes apart. Aunt Amy finally gave up saying that if they were just a little bit closer she would stay but since they wouldn't go under the 8 minutes they headed home. Daddy asked if I would be ok if he went to work, then he left too.
Soon after Daddy left I had to go to the bathroom and I started to bleed which was a sign that you were trying to come out so I called the doctor and he told me to come on over to be checked. I called Daddy telling him that I was heading over to see the doctor and that I really thought this was it. He said he would meet me there. I then got Becca and Jessie ready then drove to see the doctor feeling very excited.
At the doctor's office Daddy arrived and then I went in to be checked. I came out with a grin on my face. I sat down and Jessie jumped on my lap and wanted me to read Winnie-The-Pooh And Tigger Too. I opened the book and began to read until Daddy couldn't take it anymore and asked what was going on. I told him that I was 8 1/2 cm. dialated and fully efaced. The doctor said I would be having you within the hour and to go to the hospital. (The hospital was connected to the building where our doctor was.) The look on Daddy's face was funny because he was so surprised! A lady sitting nearby asked me if what I just said was true and when I answered yes she told me I was the craziest person she ever met to be sitting there so calm when I was about to deliver a baby. I just laughed.
They offered a wheelchair but I wanted to walk, so when we finally got to the delivery part of the hospital I was 10 cm and ready to push. It only took about 15 min and you popped out entering this world so beautiful! You looked just like your sister Becca.
I waited until I thought Aunt Amy was home and called her up. Boy was she mad! I laughed so hard.
I loved you so much that day and love you more and more each day since!!
