Chapter Ten

As soon as I heard her car drive away, I sat down on my bed and put my hands on my head. 'How could I have been so cold, how could she have been such a bitch, how could I have said that,' I thought to myself. There were so many thoughts running through my head right now, you would not believe.

A few minutes later, Justin walked through the door and said, "Chris, what was that all about. Erin came storming down the steps and ran out the door."

"I don't want to go into it," I said.

Justin sat on the bed and said, "Sure you do. I want to hear all about."

I looked up from the floor and said, "Justin, really, I don't want to talk about it."

"Come on Chris, tell me," he persisted.

I looked him in the eye and saw that he truly did want to know and didn't really want to be nosy about it, but that’s how it came out.

"Tell me!" he said a little more forceful.

"Don't you have somewhere to go? Aren't you going to a club tonight?" I asked, trying to get him to leave.

"Not unless you tell me," he said in an extremely annoying manner.

"Fine, okay? I screwed up," I said.

"How?" he asked.

I let out a loud sigh and said, "She told me she loved me."

"And." he persisted.

"I told her that I didn't love her," I simply said.

"You did what," he said, as if he didn't hear me.

"You heard me," I said, getting a little ticked off.

"Chris, you don't just tell women that you don't love them. You lived with women before, you know how emotional they get. Even I know and I'm younger than you," he said.

"I know, I just didn't want to lie to her," I said.

"You didn't have to lie, you could have pretended you didn't hear her," he said.

"Yeah, but I couldn't have her find out that I was in love with someone else, women don't like hearing that you know," I said, then I realized what I said and stood up.

"Chris, your what?" he asked.

I knew Justin wouldn't understand because all he does is play girls, he uses them. He's never been in love before. "Justin, I said 'I'm in love with someone else," I said.

"Aw, you old dog. I never thought you had it in you. You're so bad," he said with a sly grin.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked.

"What I mean is, I never thought you would ever cheat on a woman. I mean, you're like so into respect, way to go. I'm proud, I taught you well," He said with slight excitement in his voice.

"Justin, I never cheated on her. What have you been smoking?" I asked.

"Well you know me, just about everything," He stated.

"Yeah, and if you did, your momma would kick your white ass," I said.

"Chris, shut up," he said and stood up, "So, who is this mystery girl?"

"No one Justin," I said and walked across the room.

"There has to be somebody. Let me guess, Tina? No, too tall. Jacki? No, too psycho. Maria? Too much of a bitch. Lindsay? Too fat. Leigh? Too dumb. Who is she Chris?" He said emphasizing on the "is".

"Justin, drop it," I said and left the room with Justin following me.

"Tell me, please. Come on, I tell you everything. Chris," he whined.

I whirled around and came face to face with him. "Okay, she's an old friend. You don't know her because you've never met her, now drop it," I shouted and walked down the stairs.

Content with the information, he smiled and walked into his room.
