"Hey C, welcome home," Joey greeted him as he walked into the living room. "How's the little one doing?"
"I think this is the soundest she's slept since I've been with her. She's taking it so hard. I don't really blame her, I'd be pretty upset if anything ever happened to my parents, especially as young as she is."
"She's gotten bigger since the last time we saw her," Chris commented.
"No shit, she was only eight when you guys met her."
"Do you think she'll be okay living here? It's gonna be a huge change for her."
"I know. I think she'll be all right after she gets adjusted to all of us."
"Are you sure this is the right thing for her?"
"There really wasn't much of a choice. Her other brother didn't want responsibility of her, he'd rather have his freedom, besides, they weren't that close anyway. What I'm most worried about is taking her away from her sister, the two of them were really close, but she's only nineteen, I don't think she's ready to raise a thirteen year old."
"So you're stuck with her?"
"I'm not STUCK with anyone. I wanted to do this, I offered. They weren't sure of what else to do with her, so I said I'd take her. Nobody's making me raise her, she's my sister, and I only want what's best for her."
"But you don't know that much about her, you've only known her five years, and in that time, how often have you really seen her?"
"I'll just have to learn."
JC sat and talked with the guys for awhile more until he began to fall asleep. After the others had left, JC climbed the stairs and went to bed, falling into a peaceful sleep until he heard screams coming from the other bedroom.
