A video highlight reel of Battle of the Titans XVII aired.

Devon Air and Mary Jane came to the ring to kick off the show. Air took the mic, and talked about outlasting Sting, Vader, Abyss, and outsmarting Cactus Jack to win the Golden Opportunity Battle Royal. Air said that he could challenge World Heavyweight Champion Merlin, his former partner whom he defeated last year, less than 24 hours after his defense against the Rocker. But he said he wouldn't do that. Instead, Air announced that he was cashing in his shot at the Philadelphia Championship right now!

(1) Devon Air defeated Philadelphia Champion Sgt. Rex Patterson by pinfall to win the title in 3:04. The crowd was all over Air as Patterson staggered to the ring, obviously severely injured from last night's barbed wire match. Air was relentless, and tore the bandages off the new Philly champ's face and reopened his cuts. As soon as the bloody champion threatened to come back, Mary Jane caught him with a low blow. Air then nailed the Bodybreaker and the 450 Splash to get a very cheap win and the Philadelphia Championship.

Kevin Kelly and Dusty Daniels were outraged over the result of that match. After they calmed down, they announced that Physical Graffiti remained in the hospital, but has challenged Patterson to a match at War Games to gain revenge for the injuries he suffered last night.

The Commish came to the ring. He thanked the fans for making Battle of the Titans XVII such a success. He then revealed that in the main event, former foes Sting and Cactus Jack will team up to take on Big Van Vader and the monster Abyss!

(2) Venom defeated Legend's Champion Johnny B. Goode by pinfall to win the title in 5:14. In this rematch from the first Battle of the Titans, Venom spewed his legendary mist in the face of Goode, and took him out with the Snakebite (Umaga's Samoan Spike) to win the match and the title.

The Extreme Express found the Commish in the back and demanded a rematch with the Impact Players. The Commish told them to find a partner by Friday night, and if they can beat Storm, Credible, and Jericho on FNF, they will be added to the World Tag Team Title match at War Games.

(3) Abi defeated Hammer by pinfall in 5:21. Hammer, former member of the Right Stuff and Power Warriors, had an unsuccessful return against the Puerto Rican behemoth. After blocking a bodyslam, Abi nailed the Caribbean Slam for the win.

After the match, Monoxide Mare led the Army of Darkness into the ring. Brutus, Jake ''the Snake'' Roberts, Death & Destruction annihilated Abi until Carlos and Eddie Colon ran out to make the save. Unfortunately, they were outnumbered and viciously attacked as well. After the beatdown, Monoxide Mare announced that the Army of Darkness would dominate for the remainder of 2007, and would be introducing a new member at War Games.

World Cruiserweight Champion Psicosis came to the ring without his belt, which was taken by ''Hot Stuff'' Jimmy Cole last night. Cole challenged Psicosis to put the title on the line. Psicosis agreed, and the match was on!

(4) ''Hot Stuff'' Jimmy Cole defeated World Cruiserweight Champion Psicosis by pinfall for the title in 11:42. This was an excelent match, perhaps the best cruiserweight battle of 2007 yet. After a see-saw battle, Cole reversed a Tombstone attempt by the champ and dropped Psicosis with a Tombstone of his own. Cole then nailed the Jungle Boogie (moonsault into a legdrop) and scored the pinfall.

(5) Sting & Cactus Jack defeated Abyss & Big Van Vader by pinfall in 10:25. This was an all-out brawl. Vader attepmted to rehash a hardcore moment in wrestling by powerbombing Cactus on the concrete, but Cactus managed to backdrop him instead. Cactus and Sting then double teamed Abyss, taking him out of the equation with a spiked piledriver. Vader crawled into the ring and propped himself up in the corner, where Sting hit him with a Stinger Splash. Cactus then hit a running knee to the face and dropped him with a double armed DDT. Sting leapt off the top with a big splash, and covered the mastodon for the victory.

After the match, Dan the Man and Bazooka Joe and laid out Sting and Cactus Jack with help from Jim Neidhart, Abyss, and Vader, until Kurt Angle chased them away wielding a chair as the show closed.

SUNDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
October 8, 2006
Manhattan, NY
Hammerstein Ballroom

DX showed up with five front-row tickets and took their seats at ringside.

(1) Team 3D defeated the Millennium Rockers by pinfall in 8:44 to advance in the Tag Team World Cup tournament. This match exceeded all expectations. With Jannetty having spent the last month in ECW, Michaels' history in Japan, and Team 3D's extensive history, all four men weren't afraid to get hardcore. The match came to an end as the Rockers had the advantage with both Brother Ray and Brother Devon on the floor. Michaels dropped on all fours, and Jannetty jumped from his partner's back, to the top rope, and onto Team 3D. Unfortuantely for Marty, Team 3D caught him, and threw him into the crowd. They hit the ring, dropped Michaels with a 3D, and Devon made the cover for the win.

Brother Ray, bloodied from an earlier chairshot, got on the mic and said that winning the Tag Team World Cup would settle once and for all that they are the greatest tag team of all time.

Bazooka Joe, furious over his loss to Chris Jericho last week, challenged Jericho to a one on one bout, any stipulation that Jericho wanted.

(2) David Flair defeated Dustin Rhodes by pinfall in 6:53. Rhodes seemingly had the match won, when ''Cowboy '' Chris Mason ran out and laid him out with a Lariat. Stardust ran out to even the odds and brawled with Mason, but the damage was done and Flair covered Rhodes for the victory.

The four men brawled their way into the crowd, and Mason's and Stardust's valets, Lariat and Andromeda, also got involved.

The Commish announced that both the Philadelphia and World Tag Team Championships will both be defended in Four Way Elimination matches at Total Elimination 5.

(3) Excalibur & Jungle Jim Cole wrestled to a No Contest with Devon Air (w/ Mary Jane) & Azrael in 4:22. These four cruiserweights tore into each other and the referee was never able to get it down to just two men in the ring. Minutes after it began, the match ended as the four men and two women from the last match brawled their way back through the crowd and back into the ring leading to a huge brawl that took tons of security and officials to seperate.

Legend's Champion Cactus Jack greeted the fans announcing that he'd be leading a team of legends into Total Elimination 5 against Bruiser Bradley, Jim ''The Anvil'' Neidhart, Honky Tonk Man, and ''Rowdy'' Roddy Piper. Cactus introduced two of his partners, Animal and Heidenreich, the Legion of Doom! Cactus joined Kevin Kelly and Dusty Daniels on commentary as his partners got ready for the first half of the double main event.

(4) The Legion of Doom defeated the Outsiders by pinfall in 10:14. This was a tough, knock-down, drag-out fight between four big men. Nash scored a nearfall with a big boot on Heidenreich, but Animal broke up the pin. Cactus told Kelly and Daniels that their partner for TE5 would be a surprise. Later, Animal nailed Hall with a running powerslam and Nash broke up the pin. Piper, Honky Tonk Man, and Neidhart ran out to attack LOD, but Cactus came in with a chair to even the odds. in the confusion, Nash ended up getting knocked to the floor while Animal tried to get to his feet in the ring. Hall had Heidenreich set up for a back suplex off of the top rope, but Animal came from behind and hoisted Hall on his shoulders. Heidenreich flew off the top with the clothesline to put Hall away with the Doomsday Device.

''Lionheart'' Chris Jericho came to the ring, and announced that his stipulation is that if he wins, that DX will get a match against the New Elite at TE5.

(5) ''Lionheart'' Chris Jericho defeated Bazooka Joe by submission in 16:21. These two men reminded fans of what pro wrestling is. With a dazzling series of holds and counter holds, Joe took control after three minutes with a low blow. Joe slowed down the pace of the battle until Jericho ducked a clothesline and nailed an enzugiri. The pace picked back up, and Jericho seemed poised to win when the New Elite ran out. DX immediately hopped the rail to even the odds. During the brawl, Jericho rammed a chair into Joe's lower back. He then locked in the Liontamer, leaving Joe no choice but to submit.

A vignette aired announcing Justin Credible's return to the GWF.

(6) World Heavyweight Champion Merlin defeated Philadelphia Champion Wildfire by pinfall in 20:21. These two champions showed why they are the very best GWF has to offer. They tore into each other furiously, Wildfire wanting to prove he was as good as the World Heavyweight Champion, and Merlin wanting to prove his title win wasn't a fluke. Merlin was bloodied after missing a Stinger Splash in the corner and hitting his head on the top of the ring post. Wildfire seemingly had the match won after hitting six consecutive German suplexes, but Merlin miraculously kicked out. Moments later, Merlin blocked a clothesline with a T-Bone Brainbuster. Wildfire landed awkwardly, and stood up on spaghetti legs. One superkick later, and Merlin fell on top of the Philadelphia Champion for the pin in this non-title match.

Tammy Sytch was in the ring at the beginning of the show. She introduced Terry Funk. Funk spoke about War Games and the New Elite. However, he had a different focus tonight. He challenged the father-son tandem of ''Nature Boy'' John Hunter and Jazzy Jeff Hunter to a tag team match. The two men came out to ringside and accepted his challenge. Funk then suggested they find another partner, as he had two men in his corner tonight.

(1) Laser & Ultimo Dragon DCO Azrael & Juventud Guerrera in 6:34. The referee never had control of this match. All four men constantly ran in the ring without tagging and before the ref could admonish them, they'd be flying through the air towards one of their opponents. Eventually, it just broke down into a four way brawl that travelled all the way to the back, leaving the ref no choice but to throw the match out.

The Commish was in his office with his new bodyguard, Johnny Stamboli. He announced that World Cruiserweight Champion Exalibur will defend his title against the four men from the previous match plus one surprise opponent at War Games. He also decided that the Samoan Gangsta Party would pay for what they did to him in a handicapped Tables match at War Games against Stamboli and two surprise partners. Finally, he announced that there will be a two-ring battle royal open to any wrestler in the world at War Games. The first twenty men to sign up will be in it, and the two men left standing will challenge for the World Tag Team titles.

(2) World Tag Team Champions Death & Destruction (w/ Jim Cornette) defeated The Extreme Express by pinfall in 7:11. Tommy Lynn and Lance Andrews came into this match ready for the bigger champs. The referee let the rules slide a little bit, as chairs came into play early in the match. Lynn and Andrews took Destrcution out with a Conchairto. They were about to finish Death off with the Extreme Elimination, but Cornette ran in and broke his tennis racket across Lynn's face! Lynn appeared to have broken his nose as the blood poured from his face. The Hellraisers ran out, but were soon followed by the Power Warriors and then the Samoan Gangsta Party. With all these men brawling, the champs managed to slide to the floor and regroup. As referees and security regained control, they slid back into the ring, tossed the injured Lynn to the floor and planted Andrews with the Death Row double powerbomb for the win.

Mary Jane went to the Commish's office. She asked if she could referee the match between Merlin and Devon Air so she could make sure they didn't hurt each other too badly. She believed her presence might ease the tension. The Commish agreed and gave her the ref's shirt.

Maven cut a promo about how he was never taken seriously because of Tough Enough, but he knew he was more than tough enough to make an impact, and promised to leave War Games with the Philadelphia Championship.

(3) Devon Air defeated Merlin by pinfall in 13:54. Mary Jane came out in a black and white bikini to referee thie match. Before it began, she begged the two men not to fight, but they tore into each other. Merlin took an early advantage, being about one inch taller and ten pounds heavier. He used a variety of kicks and takedowns but Air slowly began to counter everything Merlin threw at him. Eventually the match became a contest of who could come up with the most counters. At one point, Air bailed out of the ring to catch a breather. Merlin ran across the ring, and leapt over the rope with a breath-taking Shooting Star Press into a clothesline on his standing opponent. Merlin then got a little extreme, whipping his former partner into every guardrail and ringpost. By the time they got into the ring, Air was bleeding from his forehead. Merlin stood over Air with a chair as Devon begged his former partner not to hit him. Mary Jane convinced Merlin to throw the chair aside. She hugged him, but Air grabbed the chair and smashed it into Merlin's back, sending both him and Mary Jane crashing to the mat. Air hit Merlin two more times before Merlin exploded off of the canvas with a Vandaminator out of nowhere. Merlin grabbed the chair and lifted it over his head, but was lowblowed by Mary Jane! She then nailed him with a Vandaminator, sending him right into a Tombstone by Air right on the chair. She counted the pin and then walked off hand in hand with Devon Air, laughing at Merlin.

In the back, the Extreme Express attacked the Rocker and locked him in a closet.

Back at the announcer's table, Jim Cornette announced that he had signed the Midnight Express, ''Beautiful'' Bobby Eaton and ''Sweet'' Stan Lane, to be in the battle royal at War Games. Kevin Kelly added that Travis Tomko will be competing as well.

(4) Terry Funk, PJ Plush, and Razorblade wrestled to a no contest with Legend's Champion ''Nature Boy'' John Hunter, Jazzy Jeff Hunter, and Bazooka Joe in 8:01. At one point Funk was triple teamed before making the hot tag to Razorblade. As Blade cleaned house, Superstar Magnum ran out and attacked both Plush and Jazzy Jeff. As Funk went for the save, the Extreme Express ran out to attack him. All nine men brawled through the crowd, all eventually ending up outside of the arena. The referee threw out the match.

In his office, the Commish said he was tired of matches without finishes. He determined that the World Heavyweight Championship match would take place inside the confines of a Steel Cage! He also appointed a special referee to handle the match: Shane Douglas.

(5) World Heavyweight Champion Z-Man defeated Dan the Man by pinfall in a Cage match in 13:27. Dan the Man tore into Z-Man early with kicks and punches before tossing him into each of the cage's walls. Dan then tried to climb out of the cage but Z-Man managed to grab his ankle and pull him back in. The champ began to work over the much taller challenger's legs, cutting him down to size and making it more difficult to escape the cage. After pounding and wrenching at Dan's left ankle and knee, Z-Man locked him in the ankle lock submission. Dan's long reach enabled him to reach the ropes. Z-Man was not phased, as he hit two T-Bone suplexes before once again clamping down on the ankle. This time, Dan escaped by pulling Shane Douglas onto Z-Man. As Douglas admonished Dan, Z-Man leapt onto them both and started hammering away at Dan. Douglas was furious and ending up trading blows with both men until Bazooka Joe and the Extreme Express ran out. They scaled the cage and entered the ring. Douglas tried to thwart them but received an Extreme Elimination for his troubles. Things were looking bleak for Z-Man until Razorblade ran out with a chair, and dove off the top of the cage onto the entire New Elite. He then bashed them all with the chair. During the melee, Dan tried to escape the cage, but Z-Man cuahgt up with him, and Z-Bombed him from the top of the cage to the mat! Z-Man made the cover and won the match.

The show opened with a video montage set to the tune of the Offspring's ''Come Out and Play.'' It showed highlights from Battle of the Titans XVI, ending with images of Razorblade and new World Heavyweight Champion Z-Man winning their respective matches.

Kevin Kelly and James E. Cornette introduced the show, mentioning both Razorblade's shot at Z-Man's newly won World title, and Cornette's team Death and Destruction getting a World Tag title shot. Theya lluded to the cage set up around the ring as the bell rung for the first match.

(1) Enigma defeated World Women's Champion Lariat to win the title in a Cage Match at 9:10. This was one of the most brutal women's matches ever. The two women tore into each other ferociously. Enigma was actually busted open after being repeatedly slammed into the steel mesh of the cage. She was able to gain revenge from last night, however, as she blocked a powerbomb with an X-Factor and tore off Lariat's top in the process! She used it to choke her opponent, before yanking off her trunks as well, leaving the champion in a revealing set of bra and panties! Lariat didn't last much longer after that. She tried to escape the cage, but was thrown to the mat from near the top. Enigma then scaled the cage, and hit a beautiful moonsault from the top, and covered Lariat to win the title.

Kevin Kelly announced that Merlin had suffered a concussion last night, and would be expected to return within the coming weeks to address what his former partner, Devon Air, did to him.

Lariat was shown ranting and raving in the back, as ''Cowboy'' Chris Mason tried to cover her up.

Tammy Sytch interviewed Hall of Famer and new Legend's Champion Terry Funk in the back. He was saying how proud he was of his two latest accomplishments when the New Elite stormed in and interrupted. Dan the Man promised to get his title back soon, and all three men wished Bazooka Joe a speedy recovery.

(2) Death & Destruction (w/ Jim Cornette) defeated World Tag Team Champions the Extreme Express to win the titles by pinfall in 10:14. Cornette managed to distract the referee as Lance Andrews and Tommy Lynn gained control of the match. When Lynn went over to confront him, Destruction came to Death's aid and they ended up double chokeslamming Andrews. Lynn turned around and walked into the Death Row double powerbomb, and we had new tag team champions!

Cornette raved about how great his team is and what an awesome manager and commentator he is.

Tammy Sytch interviewed Azrael in the back. He decided to save his rematch clause until Friday Night Fights. The Commish walked up, and decided since Ultimo Dragon forced Azrael to tap, that it will be a three way dance on Friday, with Azrael, Dragon, and the new World Cruiserweight Champion Excalibur.

Bagpipes played and out walked ''Rowdy'' Roddy Piper! The ring was set up for Piper's Pit. Piper said how great it was to be back, and that he didn't forget what the New Elite did to him a few weeks ago, and that he'd handle them another time. Tonight, his guest was PJ Plush! Plush spoke about being cleared to return to wrestling this week, and that he'd like to get in the ring with Jazzy Jeff Hunter. Superstar Magnum came out, and got in Plush's face, saying he didn't need any help beating Hunter the night before. Before Plush could respond, Magnum nailed him with a big clothesline and then a big belly to belly suplex. Hunter ran out and low blowed Magnum, taking him out with a Jazzdrop. Plush got back to his feet, and it eventually turned into a three way brawl that rolled right over Piper before security came out to break it up.

A pre-taped interview aired with Razorblade talking about his two previous World Heavyweight Championship reigns and how long he has waited to get back to this level.

Heather Carter and Taylor Edwards came to the ring. They were excited about competing at Battle of the Titans XVI last night, and decided their celebration belonged on SUnday Night Special. The two sexy young ladies began a striptease to ''Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon,'' but it was interrupted when Monoxide Mare ran out with Jazz and Indya to attack the newcomers, who were down to their undergarments. Gail Kim and Enigma ran out to make the save.

The tale of the tape was highlighted for the main event.

(3) World Heavyweight Champion Z-Man DDQ Razorblade in 15:27. This was a good match that was thrown out after the New Elite ran in and attacked both men. They had bloodied both competitors when Terry Funk ran in to even the odds, swinging a chair wildly! Piper came out to help as well, looking for revenge against the New Elite. That brought out Hunter, Magnum, and Plush, and even Death, Destruction, and the Hellraisers got in on the action. The show ended with this giant brawl going on in and around the ring!

GWF Saturday Night Special

The Basement

The Commish was in the ring to welcome everyone to the new show. He decided to start out with a bang and announce a Last Man Standing Match between the Rocker and Bazooka Joe at Battle of the Titans XVI. He also announced that four men of his choosing would compete in a Ladder Match at Titans for a World Heavyweight Championship shot the very next night on Sunday Night Special.

(1) Poison & Axl Michaels defeated Tommy Lynn & Ali by DQ in 8:43. Eventually this match featuring four of the eight competitors from the Titans tag title match broke down into a four way brawl, ending when Spike Grey's cane came into play in the hands of Ali knocking out Michaels. All four men's partners joined the fray and security took an entire commercial to break them up.

World Heavyweight Champion Dan the Man was shown in the back listing all the reasons he was going to beat Z-Man, mainly focusing on the height difference between the two.

(2) Excalibur DDQ Laser in 11:23. This highly competitve match was ended in a disappointing fashion, when Devon Air made his return by interrupting the match and attacking both men. After taking out both Laser and Excalibur with 420 splashes, Devon Air celebrated with Mary Jane.

Kevin Kelly announced that as a result of the previous match, a Three Way Dance will be held next week, with the winner earning a shot at Azrael's World Cruiserweight Championship.

(3) Greg ''The Hammer'' Valentine defeated Legend's Champion Hacksaw Jim Duggan by pinfall to win the title in 5:32. Valentine ducked Duggan's three-point stance clothesline attempt, causing Hacksaw to collide with the referee. Valentine took advantage of this to nail Duggan twice with his own 2X4, before hitting a neckbreaker and an elbow drop to get the cover.

Jim Cornette went on a rant about the up-and-coming tag team division in the GWF and how much it sucks in the WWE.

(4) Bulldog defeated Philadelphia Champion ''Cowboy'' Chris Mason by Disqualification in 8:02. After being overcome early in the match, Bulldog rallied and seemed poised to regain the Philadelphia title that he last held in 1995. However, Mason got desperate and nailed Bulldog with the title belt, busting him open, to prompt the DQ. This of course means that Bulldog will get another shot at the title in a Ladder Match at the next FNF.

The bloody Bulldog grabbed a mic after the match and reminded fans of his goals to win the World title. He asked the Commish to include him in the ladder match at Titans after he wins the Philadelphia title in a ladder match next week.

(5) Abi DCO Brutus 0:23. This match really never started, as the brawl immediately spilled to the floor where the two behemoths brawled all over the arena and out into the streets.

A taped segment aired showing PJ Plush rehabbing, and ended with Plush talking about his career and how he hopes to return by summer.

The Commish announced that the next match would be for a spot in the four-way ladder match.

(6) Merlin defeated Superstar Magnum by pinfall in 14:52. This was an exciting match, with Merlin forcing Magnum to come up to a faster pace. Magnum nearly got the victory when he blocked a senton bomb with an Olympic Slam. However, Merlin persevered and got back into the fight. As Magnum went for a rare axhandle from the middle rope, Merlin met him with a superkick. He followed that up with a split-legged moonsault for the victory.

Jazzy Jeff Hunter smashed Superstar Magnum in the face with an absolutley brutal chairshot as Magnum walked to the back. The show ended with paramedics tending to the bloody Magnum.

Don't forget about Sunday Night Special on March 19th featuring a World Heavyweight Championship match!
