WORLD CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP LADDER MATCH: Psicosis (C) VS Maven VS Azrael VS Excalibur
Azrael and Excalibur tore into each other before either Maven or World Cruiserweight Champion Psicosis made it to the ring. Maven and Psicosis began brawling in the aisle. Two minutes into the match, all four men were finally in the ring. Maven was quickly backdropped to the floor, which allowed Psicosis and Excalibur to double team Azrael. In the meantime, Maven grabbed a ladder and slid it into the ring. Maven was the first to use the ladder, knocking both Psicosis and Excalibur out of the ring with it. He tried going for the gold, but Azrael German suplexed him off of the ladder. Later in the bout, Psicosis was down after a superplex from the top of the ladder and Azrael and Excalibur were trading blows atop the ladder. Excalibur got the better of the exchange, and hip tossed Azrael from the top of the ladder through a table on the floor. Excalibur was a little off balance from the move, and Maven took advantage by performing an amazing vertical leap onto the ladder and completely knocking Excalibur out with a Tiger suplex. Psicosis quickly snatched Maven up and Tombstoned him on a chair. With all of his opponents out of the equation, Psicosis set up the ladder and slowly pulled himself up the rungs. ''Jungle Boogie'' began playing over the PA system and Jungle Jim Cole ran out. He leapt onto the apron and then srpung from the top rope, over the ladder, and grabbed Psicosis with the most amazing sunset flip powerbomb ever seen. Cole ripped off his mask and played to the crowd. He then easily climbed the ladder, grabbed the World Cruiserweight title belt, and walked to the back with the title.
    WINNER: No Contest at 14:44

Steven D'Angelis announced this evening's special guest interviewer, Joel Gertner. Gertner entered the ring, and took the mic. ''Well, well, well. Allow me to introduce myself. It is I, the Quintessential Studmuffin, Joel-I'm so glad to be back in Philly, although I've already fucked all these girls silly, I still like to let them play with my willy, and when it's inside them they are overfilly, and even with that I'm not quite done, just so you don't think of me as a bum, I will take your girl and give her some, and bless her with my holy cum-Gertner.'' The crowd went nuts for Gertner's monologue and chanted his name as he returned to the locker room. The video package with highlights of World Heavyweight Champion Merlin's career aired again.

In the back, special guest interviewer Joel Gertner asked Jungle Jim Cole why he stole the Cruiserweight belt. Cole said his days under a hood are over, and asked to be referred to as ''Hot Stuff'' Jimmy Cole from now on. He said all the fans wrote in wanting to see him at Battle of the Titans XVII, and he decided to show up and make his own opportunity since no one gave it to him.

BUNKHOUSE BRAWL: Dustin Rhodes VS Scott Hall
Hall and Rhodes started off wildly throwing fists at each other and ended up brawling to the floor. Rhodes managed to drive Hall's back into the guardrail, and then hit him with an atomic drop, and a little flip, flop, and fly. Rhodes DDTed the dazed Hall on the concrete floor. Referee Chris Kane began counting, but Rhodes pounced on Hall and began wailing away at his rival's head instead of going for the win. Rhodes shoved Hall into the ring, and took a fan's chair into the ring with him. He piledrove Hall on the chair, but again pulled him up instead of going for the win. Rhodes whipped Hall into the corner, nailed him with 10 punches and then bulldogged him onto a chair, busting Hall open across the bridge of his nose. The referee counted to 7 before Hall pulled himself to his feet. He managed to duck a roundhouse right and back suplex Dustin onto the chair. Hall then methodically worked over Dustin's neck, shoulders, and back for a few minutes. Rhodes eventually regained control and looked to finish the match by superplexing Hall across two chairs set up in the ring. Hall blocked the move with a lowblow, and instead obliterated Rhodes with a Razor's Edge from the top rope through the chairs, breaking one of the chairs clean in two. Rhodes lay motionless as the ref counted to 10, ending the fight.
    WINNER: Scott Hall in 11:09

Paramedics put Rhodes on a stretcher and took him away in an ambulance immediately after the match.

WORLD WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP VS CAREER MATCH: Heather Carter (C) VS Taylor Edwards
Carter and Edwards locked up mid-ring, and traded a few holds and counters, giving the crowd the first actual wrestling of the evening. Edwards actually took control early in the bout, working on the champ's laft arm. After focusing on Carter's arm for awhile, Edwards locked her in the Crossface Chicken Wing. After an agonzing struggle, Carter broke the hold with a chinbuster. Carter then gained momentum, speeding up the pace of the match with armdrags and dropkicks. Carter then began punishing her challenger's back, utilizing a variety of stretch holds and backbreakers. Edwards shifted momentum back in her favor with a thumb to the eye, but her momentum was short-lived as Carter countered a Tornado DDT with a spinebuster. Carter then nailed an Ace Crusher and finished her former partner off with a Uranage to end the match and the career of taylor Edwards.
WINNER: World Women's Champion Heather Carter in 12:10

The fans stood and clapped for Taylor Edwards as she left a GWF ring for the last time.

Number one contender Rocker was interviewed by Joel Gertner. Rocker referred to the video highlights of Merlin's career. He said that he didn't need a video for his career, that his 14 World titles spoke for themselves. Rocker then reminded fans that he trained Merlin, and led him to his first World title back in 1999. Rocker promised that tonight, the teacher would prevail over the student in a lesson that he would never forget.

A video aired hyping the connection between Battle of the Titans and Bazooka Joe and Dan the Man. Tonight marks the 13th time that they would be in the same match, either as opponents or partners, at Battle of the Titans.

Joel Gertner interviewed Kurt Angle, who again promised that he'd be completely neutral in calling the World Tag Team Championship match, and that he wouldn't touch anyone unless they touched him first. After that, all bets are off.

WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Dan the Man & Bazooka Joe w/Jimmy Hart (C) VS PJ Plush & Z-Man
    Special Referee: Kurt Angle

A brawl erupted immediately after the bell rang, with PJ Plush and Bazooka Joe fighting in the aisle and last year's main eventers Dan the Man and Z-Man taking it into the crowd. During the melee, Plush superkicked Jimmy Hart, effectively taking him out of the picture. After more than five minutes of brawling over the arena, the four men made it back to ringside and Kurt Angle demanded they wrestle under standard rules. With the match under control, the two teams put on a perfect example of human chess. After a good deal of exciting back and forth mat-based action, Bazooka Joe had gained the upper hand on PJ Plush. Dan the Man was having issues with Kurt Angle throughout the match, with Dan's ego itching for a fight with the Olympic Gold Medalist. This ended up costing the tag team champs the match, as Bazooka Joe had PJ Plush covered after an Ace Crusher, but Dan had Angle distracted by arguing an earlier call. As Joe yelled at his brother for the distraction, Plush tagged in Z-Man, who gored both of the tag team champions, and then dropped Joe with the Z-Line, forcing him to tap out.
WINNERS: New Champions PJ Plush & Z-Man in 15:11

After the match, Dan and Joe were mouthing off at each other over the loss, but soon turned their attention to Angle. Dan attacked Kurt Angle, only to be dropped with a belly to belly suplex. Joe lunged at Angle, but was met with an Olympic Slam and locked in the ankle lock. Dan was about to save his brother, but one look from Angle sent him scurrying to the back. Angle then played to the crowd and left the ring.

Joel Gertner interviewed Masato Tanaka. Tanaka dedicated his match to Mike Awesome.

NUMBER 1 CONTENDER'S MATCH: Masato Tanaka VS Brutus w/ Jake ''the Snake''Roberts
This match was very similar to the famous bout between Tanaka and Mike Awesome at the first One Night Stand for the first five or six minutes. Towards the end, Tanaka hit his trifecta of finishers, the Tornado DDT on a chair, the Diamond Dust, and the Roaring Elbow. The monstrous Brutus still managed to kick out. Seemingly out of desperation, Tanaka scaled the ropes with his chair, and leapt from the top and hit Brutus in the skull with a chairshot so vicious that the chair broke in two. Tanaka covered Brutus and got the three.
    WINNER: Masato Tanaka in 8:45

Monoxide Mare was shown with Death & Destruction in the back. She vowed to bring the Army of Darkness to the top of the GWF and avenge the previous loss.

The ring crew began taking down the ropes and surrounding the ring in barbed wire.

A promo for War Games aired, announcing that the legendary Carlos Colon would be in action.

A video aired showing the hardcore history of the careers of Physical Graffiti, Sgt. Rex Patterson, and Philadelphia Champion Hanzo. A split screen then showed the three competitors preparing for their match.

PHILADELPHIA CHAMPIONSHIP BARBED WIRE MATCH: Hanzo (C) VS Sgt. Rex Patterson VS Physical Graffiti
Typically, participants in a barbed wire match start off slow and cautious, however this was not the case in this contest for the Philadelphia Championship. The three men tore into each other fast and furiously. Hanzo was the first man to hit the barbs, but seemed unphased as he bounced back and took out his opponents with a double Hanzo Sword. Things got grisly a few minutes later as Patterson sent Graffiti face first into the wire with a drop toe hold, ripping Graffiti's face open. As Graffiti laid on the canvas with a pool of blood growing around his head, Hanzo and Patterson continued their feud. Hanzo hiptossed Patterson into the wire and the sergeant got snagged upside down. As he tried to free himself, the 270 pound Philadelphia Champion charged at him and speared him through the barbs and onto the floor. In the ring, an extremely bloody Physical Graffiti staggered to his feet. Hanzo returned to the ring, and cut him down with a Hanzo Sword and pinned him to eliminate him from the fight. Meanwhile, Rex Patterson had recovered and brought one of the torn strands of barbed wire into the ring and began whipping Hanzo with it, adding to the road map of scars across the veteran of Japanese Death Matches. Hanzo managed to regain momentum with a Yakuza kick, and he then dragged the strand of barbs across Patterson's face. As Patterson used the barbed wire to pull himslef up, Hanzo set up for a Hanzo Sword. Patterson dodged it at the last second, and Hanzo became entangled in the wire. Patterson grabbed a chair, and beat Hanzo and the barbed wire that he was wrapped in to the mat. Patterson then ran across the ring and dropkicked the chair into Hanzo's head and covered him for the win and the Philadelphia title in the single most gory match in the history of the GWF.
WINNER: New Champion Rex Patterson in 9:46

Referees helped Patterson to the back as EMTs and the ring crew helped free Hanzo from the barbed wire and then took him to the back as well as the fans gave the competitors a standing ovation.

Dusty Daniels announced that Physical Graffiti was taken to a local medical facility for severe blood loss.

As the ring crew cleaned the ring and reassembled the ropes, Joel Gertner interviewed Vader. Vader said he was looking forward to taking out Cactus Jack, Sting, and everyone else on his way to winning the battle royal.

Cactus Jack was shown in the back, rocking back and forth. He looked into the camera and said ''I'm going to hurt them all...BANG BANG!''

GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY BATTLE ROYAL: Sting, Cactus Jack, Abyss, Vader, Chris Jericho, the Hellraisers, Bulldog, Redd Dogg, Devon Air, Abi, Kid Kash, Kidman, Razorblade, Oz, Laser, Wildfire, Jim Neidhart, the Honky Tonk Man, and Stardust
Vader went on an early rampage, tossing Stardust, Kid Kash, and Billy Kidman over the top before being double clotheslined to the floor by former enemies Sting and Cactus Jack. Abyss launched himself at Sting moments later and both tumbled over the top rope and then brawled to the back. Abi managed to eliminate Razorblade and Laser before Redd Dogg, the Hellraisers, and Devon Air all pitched in to heave the big man over the top. Oz and Redd Dogg were both trying to dump Jim Neidhart to the floor when Neidhart's fellow Hart Family stablemate Honky Tonk Man flipped all three over the top. Chris Jericho soon sent Honky packing as Cactus flipped Malcolm over the top. Cactus and Jericho slowly began clearing the ring, with Cactus dumping Bulldog over the top and Jericho dispatching Wildfire and Redd Dogg. The final four consisted of Jericho, Cactus, Ali, and Devon Air. Ali was Irish whipped by Jericho into Cactus who backdropped him to the floor. Jericho tossed Air over the top, but he landed on the apron. Jericho went for his signature corner dropkick, but Air ducked, crotching Jericho on the top rope. One well placed dropkick sent Jericho to the floor. As Air celebrated, Cactus launched at him with his signature clothesline and both men tumbled over the top to the floor. Referee Chris Kane called for the bell, pointing out that Air's feet landed on Cactus Jack, not the floor, and therefore Devon Air was the winner!
    WINNER: Devon Air in 15:43

After the match, a furious Cactus Jack laid Devon Air out with a double armed DDT.

Joel Gertner interviewed Lariat in the back. She said she loved her brother, but he has no right to tell her who she should and shouldn't date. She revealed she'd remain in the corner of ''Cowboy'' Chris Mason tonight.

Cameras in the back caught Vader and Abyss double teaming Sting. Cactus Jack ran up with his trusty barbed wire bat and chased them off.

GRUDGE MATCH: ''Cowboy'' Chris Mason w/ Lariat VS ''Jazzy'' Jeff Hunter
Chris Mason speared Jeff Hunter immediately upon entering the ring and began peppering him with right hands. Mason dominated Hunter early on, brawling out into the crowd, into the back, and back down the aisle. Hunter was busted open after going face first into the front doors of the Madhouse, breaking the glass. Mason beat the bloody Hunter back into the ring, where the veteran took control with a thumb to the eye. Hunter methodically worked over Mason's right arm, trying to take his signature lariat out of the equation. After several agonizing minutes, Mason managed to fight back with a spinebuster and continued his beating on the Jazzy one. ''Nature Boy'' John Hunter, father of both Jeff and Lariat, came out to ringside. As Mason prepared to stomp on Hunter's face, the Nature Boy's visibly shaken demeanor prompted Lariat to jump onto the apron and ask Mason to just finish the match. Hunter struggled to his feet with his father encouraging him from the floor and his sister looking on from the apron. Mason charged for a big boot, but the elder Hunter grabbed his son's leg and pulled him out of harm's way, causing Mason to KO his girlfriend Lariat and send her flying from the apron to the floor. As Mason gaped in horror at what he had done, Hunter lowblowed him, hit the Jazzdrop, and covered him for the cheap win in this hard fought battle.
WINNER: ''Jazzy'' Jeff Hunter in 17:56

A video aired showing some of the highlights of the Tag Team World Cup, including the wins the Extreme Express and the Impact Players racked up to get to the finals of this tournament.

TAG TEAM WORLD CUP FINALS: The Extreme Express VS The Impact Players w/ Dawn Marie & Jason
The Extreme Express came into this match by way of wins over the SAT, the World's Greatest Tag Team, the Hellraisers, and the Hardy Boyz. The Impact Players defeated the bWo, the Legion of Doom, the Samoan Gangsta Party, and the New Foundation to reach the finals. The match started off with Lance Andrews and Lance Storm locking up. After some back and forth action with neither man gaining an upper hand, tempers flared and the match turned into a four way brawl. Senior referee Chris Kane managed to regain order in the bout around the seven minute mark. It wouldn't last long, as Andrews and Tommy Lynn nailed Justin Credible with the Extreme Elimination at the eleven minute mark, but another brawl broke out, this time with Jason Knight getting involved. Chris Jericho ran in, and chased Knight to the back with Credible's Singapore Cane. After order was once again restored, Jericho returned to ringside brandishing the weapon, almost daring Dawn Marie to interfere. With the sides even, the match continued. The Impact Players scored a nearfall on Lynn after a double superkick, and several minutes later the Extreme Express nearly had the win after a Hart Attack. Frustration was high, and Credible and Andrews began brawling on the floor as their partners wrestled in the ring. Jericho shocked the crowd by using this distraction to crack the Singapore cane over Tommy Lynn's head, allowing Storm to roll him up for the win!
WINNERS: The Impact Players in 20:38

After the match, Dawn Marie announced Chris Jericho as the newest member of the Impact Players! The Commish came to the ring and presented the Impact Players with the World Cup, and promised them that when the Extreme Express asked for a rematch, he'd grant it to them!

Joel Gertner commented on this event being a night of surprises, and with that, he introduced the Golden Opportunity Battle Royal winner Devon Air and his manager Mary Jane. Air proclaimed that 2007 is his year, and predicted he'd hold every title the GWF has to offer by Battle of the Titans XVIII.

The Tale of the Tape aired for the World Heavyweight Championship bout between Champion Merlin and Challenger the Rocker. Rocker entered to ''Enter Sandman'' and then World Champ Merlin entered to ''April 29, 1992 (Miami)'' by Sublime. After both men were in the ring, Steven D'Angelis did the formal introductions.

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Merlin (C) VS the Rocker
The match began with both men feeling each other out, often ending with Rocker getting the best of the exchange. After several minutes of chain wrestling going in the former 14-time World Heavyweight Champion, Merlin rolled to the floor to regroup, leaving his former mentor in the ring smirking. When Merlin and Rocker went to lock up again, Merlin came out of nowhere nailing Rocker's thighs and abdomen with some stiff kicks. Merlin, with the pace picked up significantly, took over control of the match. Merlin kept Rocker at bay with his educated feet, using a variety of martial arts kicks to punish the veteran's body. Merlin would maintain control for about ten minutes. He went for a Frog Splash to end the match, but Rocker edged out of the way, and slowed the match down by working over the champ's neck. When Rocker felt his former protege was sufficiently weakened, he attempted to hit the Enter Sandman, but ended up falling to an overhead spinebuster similar to Bob Holly's Alabama Slam. The match went back and forth, both men starting to feel the 25+ minutes they had been going strong for. Rocker nearly had the victory with a superkick, but Merlin's leg was under the ropes. By the time Rocker realized he didn't win, Merlin had recovered enough to cradle him for another near fall. The two men forged on, hitting each other with everything they had. Finally, Rocker gained the upper hand once more, and was poised to end the match and possibly Merlin's career with an Enter Sandman from the top rope. Amazingly, Merlin fought out of his challenger's grasp, and DDTed him from the top rope. With Rocker unconcious in the middle of the ring, Merlin scaled the ropes, and nailed a picture perfect 630 Splash and scored the three count for the victory.
WINNER: Still Champion Merlin in 33:19

Kevin Kelly thanks the fans for coming out and signed off for himself, Dusty Daniels, and Joel Gertner as World Heavyweight Champion Merlin celebrated in the ring!
