Living Faith

What is living faith?

In Hebrews 11 we find many examples of living faith. We find that {verse 1}it is the substances of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
It isn't something we can see, but it is very noticable when it is there.
We go on to find these examples in Hebrews 11;

Abel offering a better sacrifice than his brother.
Enoch being wisked off to heaven without death.
Noah building his ark when all around him said he was mad.
Sarah, though first laughing at the thought, had faith that she would bear a son, Isaac.
Then Abraham had faith to believe that God would provide an offering in place of Isaac.

But in verse six we see that it is impossible to please God without faith, and this brings us to our original question, "What is living faith?"
There is a saying that hangs on the wall here in our home and it says;
Your reputation is
what you are when
others are looking, and
your character is what
you are when no one
is looking

and so is living faith.
Living faith is what comes with maturity and you can look back at previous trials and say, " God got me through that and He'll get me through this too." Living faith is not put on at certain times, like your Sunday clothes. It is there all the time. Living faith is what the people closest to you see. How often we have heard of families, or even have been that family, that bickers and fights in the car on the way to church and then puts on a mask when the get into church? That is not living faith.
Living faith is what our children and grand children see, and it can be inherited as a more perfect legacy than gold.

Or, how many times have you been shocked, or shocked someone, when they get comfortable enough with your friendship to speak vulgarity, but give the illusion of purity at other times?
Living faith is something that grows and is consistant. It can sometimes be weak and other times strong, but it continues to move forward to the final triumpth. It is never vulgar,haughty or two-faced. It holds our God and Saviour reverendly, always..
