STRAIGHT
FROM THE HEART
Reflection on my Journey
When I think back of when I started this ministry in 1996-97, and reflect upon the
many people I had come to meet as I walked across Canada to bring the Holy
Testament to anyone who would receive it freely. I can not help but contemplate
on the people whom I had the pleasure to meet and talk to along the way. But
what stuck mostly in my mind are the men and women in blue. These people who
patrol our highways, to the smallest of country roads. How courteous, kind and
helpful all of these fine police women and men were to me. I am for ever humbly
greatful, especially when at the time, I was wearing a robe that looked like it came
from ancient times. To these I leave this poem that I had written in memory of
them.
May I thank you, all you men and women in blue. Who serve the public so faithful and true.
By putting yourselves out on the front line, for all of Humanity, time after time.
You, who have bravely stepped up to the plate, dedicating your lives in the face of all adversity.
May we, the people forever be grateful for the deeds that you do. Who protect, save and serve people just like me and you.
The many long hours they spend on streets and country roads. Helping and protecting us, in emergencies, fire, storm's, or from evil rogues.
Then there are those who give their lives to fight and defend, this precious land, of our's, that we are trying so hard to mend.
By people who would want to destroy God's intrinsic Sacred Ways, Turning a peaceful, tranquil way of life, into horrendous, dark and gloomy days.
Perverting all that we hold so dear, rendering everything to decay and tears. But these brave souls have stood their ground, in the face of all their fears.
Oh Heavenly Father, Bless all those women and men in blue. Who have the Love, Kindness and Grace that come from You.
Protect them all as they live their courageous lives. And if they should ever fall, may their Spirit, Heavenward glide.
Despite what some Christian preachers may say about me, I do care
about what is happening to humanity and the world we all live in. Unlike those
Christian preachers who tend to demonize everything and everybody under their
gaze, I have a different outlook on people. In reflecting upon the many journeys
that has taken me all across Canada, Central and South America, I can not help
but remember the many people that I had encountered, be they rich or poor, and
shared a small portion, a segment of their lives with them. I found them to be very
decent, kind and caring type of people who are trying to elk out a living among
the political forces they live under. Most people have by now become very critical
with much cynicism to political and religious institutions. They have given up on
those ideals and placed their total focus on maintaining a reasonable, comfortable
life, surrounded by a small group of friends that give them some joy and expect
no more from life. The reason for this outlook that the majority of people have is
that they have lost faith in the religious and political systems that presently exist. If
I can give back to people the faith in the one and only true GOD, then I will have
accomplished what I have been sent out to do.

There are people among us who have encountered the loss of limbs or
function of body parts through an accident or because of an illness. I know it is
not easy for anyone in that position to feel happy, to feel like life is worth living.
In having a sense of worthlessness being the way they are. I know of one such
person, named Pauline, who has lost the function of most of her body parts during
her teen years. She is unable to use her legs and has very limited use of her
hands. But what a mind has she. Because of what has happened to you, Pauline,
you may feel that you cannot cope anymore. Why this has happened to you,
only GOD knows the answer to this question. Whatever the cause may be, it has
happened to you. The question is, what will you do about it? Will you sulk and
feel sorry for yourself for the rest of your life? Or will you take stock of what you
do have and make the best, out of a bad situation? That answer will be totally up
to you on how you will cope with it. Your first duty is to take stock in what you are
able to do, and focus on these things. Then find out how to make use of those
things that you can do. That in itself will take time. Use this time to talk to other
people in like circumstance and see how they are coping. You will find out that
you are not alone. Also realize what are your limitations and find out ways on
how you may overcome them. Learn to do things in other ways, but never say..
I give up! Life has got you beat. You will find out that Life is still worth living and
you have much to do. You only have to find ways to do things in your own special
way. Use the time you have well. Never forget that you are of worth. People do
care about you, not because of your disabilities, but because of who you are.
Realize that Pauline. Do not sell yourself short by thinking that you are useless
and have no worth. Look at all the people you interact with. You have people
within your own family, the many people who care for you at the long term care
facility you are in. The doctors and nurses you have. The friends that you see on
a daily basis. To all of these people you are of worth, because of who you are.
You will come to realize that life is worth living after all. That each day brings in
new opportunities and challenges to explore. Therefore, let not your worth be
determined by the things you can not do. See and believe in the standards that
GOD, your Heavenly Father has set for you. You are of great worth. So pick
yourself up and look around you. Realize the Love that you give. The Friendship
you are to people. The Kindness that you show towards others. The Understanding
you share with those who speak with you. All of these are qualities of worth to
those people you interact with. Don't sell yourself short, Pauline. You have much
worth in you. I know, trust me in this, I know.
