I Had The Pleasure Speaking With Gozarr-Guitar/Vocals And Zuel Lead Guitars-
Of The Band Bearded Assholes On March 5/2001
(Eddie):Where did you get your band name from and who cameup with it?
(Gozarr):
We couldn't decide on a unique name so we sat around
drinking some frosty brews and figured, fuck it. We
have beards and most people think we're assholes...
Let it be written so let it be done.
(Eddie):Tell us a little history of how the band formed?
(Zuel):Gozarr and I are the founders. In 1996 we were in a design class together and I guess it was the brutal artwork or the smell of burlatious bud stuck on our clothes that led us to talking. Our interests were similar and we agreed that there was no qaulity Metal in the city of Manhattan, Ks (Go figure). Thus we created the unique and pungent musical desecration that was soon to become the Bearded Assholes. After a few years of fucking around, our anger of the weak scene grew, and we took our music a bit more seriously. Finally after ripping through various band members we teamed up with Vigo (Vocals), Ivor (Bass),and Ty Dupp (Drums) early in 2000, to form a tight 5 piece unit of mutilation. We've been shredding the underground ever since.
(Eddie):Where can we purchase your CD, and how much?
(Gozarr):Unfortunately, we have not been professionally recorded yet. However, we have started to complete a quality studio recording in January of 2001.To tie anyone over until then, we do have live recordings of our shows in MP3 and Video format splashed over the web.Check out our website for a full listing.Or take a look at some of our mp3's at:
MP3.COM
(Eddie):What was your most memorable experience making the cd or playing a gig or both?
(Zuel):We couldn't decide upon a most memorable experience
between the band. But any gig at which a woman of
consenting age allows us to sign her breasts or the
crowd explodes into a HUGE mosh pit puts a little
teardrop in Ivor Shandorr's (our bass player) eyes.
(Eddie):What are the bands influences?
(Gozarr):Carcass, Grave, Pungent Stench, Gorefest, Slayer,Etc...
(Eddie):How would you describe your bands sound?
(Zuel):Slow Chunky Riffs combined with Piercing Screams,Deep Guttural Vocals, Blazing scales, and a whirlwind of time changes.Your basic "Jesus Fucking Tits!! What the Fuck just blew my intestines out of my Ass!" Death Metal.Unlike most other Death Metal bands though, are lyrics are more on the humorous side, we're all about having a good time.
(Eddie):If we were to come see you live, what can we expect to see?
(Gozarr):Anal Annihilation! We have a dedicated crowd and they
really get into the music. They are a large part of
why our shows are so damn good. If you've never seen
us before and don't want to be in a pit, stay toward
the far back.
(Eddie):What made you want to become a musician and who if a band or individual?
(Zuel):The shear ignorance of people's idea of what heavy
music is. It always amazes and angers us to see
people throwing up the sign of the beast at some pussy
show were talent and time changes are minimal and
maybe four chords are played the whole set. When
those same people stumble upon our brutal shit they
usually open their eyes, or their heads explode...
Either way it’s a good deal. Don't get us wrong - we
like most genres of music, its just when people have
no clue that what they're listening to is the worst of
that genre, it bugs the shit out of us. It’s a sad
situation out there.. If you don't believe us look at
MTV sometime.
(Eddie):Any new information for your fans or future fans?
(Gozarr):If you haven't seen it... Check out our website - It
will blow you away! Zuel designed the thing to show
off as well as throw up something on the web equal to
our musics qaulity. Fuckin awesome. We recomend that you don't view it with your grandmother though - it has been known to cause heart failure.
(Eddie):Well thanks Guys for the interview,i look forward to your cd when it is done as does all the world, good luck guys in your career!!!
(Band):Thanks Eddie for spreading the good word and when our cd is done we will let ya know.
