(Rick):The Band started with the same members (minus drummer Espen Bjarkeid) in
1992 under the name Atlantis.
Released the demo "Atlantis" in 1994 which recieved good critics in Scream
Magazine (Norway's biggest Hard Rock Magazine) and various radio stations.
Fall 1994: The bandname changes to "Contradiction in Terms" and the demo
"Demigod" gets released.
Summer 1995: Due to musical differences, the band split up.
The period 1995-99: The members are involved in different projects.
In the fall of 1999 the band got together again, this time with a new
drummer. Changed name to Emerald and released the demo "Stargazer" in April
2000. The bands members has a wide range of inspirations that contribute to

(Eddie):Where can we purchase your CD,and how much???
(Rick):At our website (under the "contact us"-section). It costs 6 USD.
(Eddie):What was your most memorable experience,playing
a certain gig or recording the cd or both???
(Rick):We have played for about 800 people at Oslos most popular concert scene,
Rockefeller Music Hall.
(Eddie):What is the bands influences???
(Rick):Everything! (for instance Iron Maiden, Dare, Fates Warning, Dream Theater,
Symphony X, Arena, Anathema, Pink Floyd, Savatage, Rush, Queensryche, Deep
Purple, Mr. Big, David Lee Roth, Boston, Billy Sheehan Metallica, Pearl Jam,
Kiss, Led Zep, Ufo.
(Eddie):How would you describe your bands sound???
(Rick):If we have to describe it, it would probably be as melodic based hard rock
with elements of progressive metal.
(Eddie):If we were to come see you live, what can we expect to see???
(Rick):A helluva show! We enjoy very much playing live, and hope to get the chance
to play some gigs in Europe (and the rest of the world).
(Eddie):Who produced the cd,and where was it recorded???
(Rick):We cooperated with a guy called Marius Kristiansen. The studios name is JB
Studio. It is located at the outskirts of Oslo, Norway (where we also rehearse).
(Eddie):What made you want to become a musician, and who if a band or indiviual???
(Rick):I've always had it in me, I believe. Since I was three or four years
old, I've been loving music and singing.
(David):Billy Sheehan. He's my hero!
(Thomas):Jimmy Page is my inspiration, allthough the first rock-record I got
was by AC/DC when I was five.
(Espen):Steve Gadd!
(Simen):Well, I ejoyed being with my older brother and his bandmates, and
when I started playing, I discovered Dream Theater and John Petrucci - I was
hooked!
(Eddie):Any new information you would like to share with your fans and future
fans???
