ask, and ye shall receive

  • If any of you lack widom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
    But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that waverth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
    James 1:5-6

  • But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
    When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;
    (For the Lord thyGod is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of they fathers which he sware unto them.
    Deut. 4:29-31

  • And when ye shall receive these things, Iwould exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; a nd if ye shall ask iwth a sincere heart,with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
    And by the power f the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.
    Moroni 10:4-5

  • For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost, as well in these times as in times of old, and as well in times of old as in times to come; wherefore, the course of the Lord is one eternal round.
    1 Ne 10:19

  • Do ye not remember the things which the Lord hath said? - If ye will not harden your hearts, and sask me in faith, believing that ye shall receive, with diligence in keeping my commandments, surely these things shall be made known unto you.

blessings of

  • I say to you that there is revelation in the Church. The Lord not only blesses the men who stand at the head and hold the keys of the kingdom, but he also blesses every faithful individual with the spirit of inspiration. He gives His people revelation for their own guidance, wherein they keep His commandments and serve Him. That is a blessing promised and within their power to recieve.
    --- Joseph F. Smith
    Conference Report, Oct 1910, p.41

  • Nothing costs so much as what is bought by prayers.

  • Real prayer always does one of two things: It either frees us from the trouble we fear or else it gives us the strength and courage to meet the trouble when it comes.

  • Prayer changes things. Prayer changes you!

  • Worry can do alot of things to you; prayer can do alot of thing for you.

  • "But that ye would humble yourselves before the Lord, and call upon his holy name, and watch and pray continually, that ye may not be tempted above that which ye can bear, and thus be led by the Holy Spirit, becoming humble, meek, submissive, patient, full of love and long-suffering."
    - Alma 13:28

prayer

  • What a wonderful new meaning for ASAP
    Always Say A Prayer (A.S.A.P.)
    There’s work to do, deadlines to meet, you’ve got no time to spare, but as you hurry and scurry, always say a prayer.
    In the midst of family chaos, “quality time” is rare. Do your best; Let God do the rest: always say a prayer. (ASAP).
    It may seem like your worries are more than you can bear. Slow down and take a breather — always say a prayer. (ASAP).
    God knows how stressful life is; He wants to ease our cares, and He’ll respond a.s.a.p. - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER — (ASAP).
    1 Thes. 5:17, “Pray without ceasing”.

  • Pray or be a prey - a prey to fears, to futilities, to ineffectiveness.

  • Prayer is not a subsitute for work. It is an effort to work further and to be effective beyond the range of one’s power.

  • You must seek him in the morning if you want him through the day.

  • Seven days without prayer makes one weak.

  • God can’t mend a broken heart unless you give him all the pieces.

  • No man stands taller than when he’s standing on his knees.

  • If your day is hemmed with prayer, it is less likely to unravel.

  • "Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you...” DC 88:63

  • A Beehive becomes a young woman of truth as she follows the promptings of the Holy Ghost, seeks truth, and strives to live and share it.

  • "Living What We Pray For”

    I knelt to pray when day was done
    And prayed, “O Lord, bless everyone;
    Lift from each saddened heart the pain,
    And leg the sick be well again.”

    And then I woke another day
    And carelessly went on my way;
    The whole day long I did not try
    To wipe a tear from any eye.

    I did not try to share the load
    Of any brother on the road;
    I did not even go to see
    The sick man, just next door to me.

    Yet, once again, when day was done,
    I prayed, “O Lord bless everyone.”
    But as I prayed, into my ear
    There came a voice that whispered clear.

    "Pause now, my son, before you pray;
    Whom have you tried to bless today?
    Bod’s sweetest blessings always go
    By hands that serve Him here below.”

    And then I hid my face and cried,
    "Forgive me, God, I have not tried.
    Let me but live another day,
    And I will live the way I pray.”

  • The Prayer Rock

    I’m your little “Prayer Rock”
    and this is what I’ll do.
    Just put me under your pillow
    ’till the day is through.
    Then turn back the covers,
    and climb into bed,
    and WACK! your little “Prayer Rock”
    will hit you on the head.
    Then you will remember as
    the day is through,
    to kneel and say your prayers
    as you wanted to.
    Then when youare finished,
    just dump me on the floor.

    I’ll stay there through the night
    to give you help once more.
    And when you get up the next moring.
    CLUNK! I’ll stub your toe.
    So you will remember your
    morning prayers before you go.
    Put me back upon your pillow
    when your bed is made,
    and your clever little “Prayer Rock”
    will continue in your aid.
    Because your Heavenly Father
    cares and loves you so. The Whole Armor of God
