Our song
By Gloria

Ivy Crane drank from her glass of wine and sat it on the table. She looked outside into the deep abyss of darkness. She pulled out a locket she kept hidden tucked in her shirt and walked over to the bedroom door and locked it. The last thing she needed was Julian barging in asking questions not that he would be caught dead in her bedroom anyways. She pressed play then repeat on her CD player and sat down to listen. The same song she would listen to played over and over, "Just the Way You Are" by Billie Joel. "It wasn’t just any song it was our song…" Ivy said out loud. The music echoed through the large mansion.

She wiped away the tears from her eyes and looked back down on the locket. It wasn't the most expensive thing in the world but it's on of her most prized possessions. She hated being rich and without love. All the diamonds and designer clothes in the world couldn't fill the part of her that was missing inside. All the riches in the world couldn’t stop the loneliness. She opened up the locket to see a picture of her love on one side and on the other, a picture of her son Ethan.

The days seemed long and the nights endless. Without him life didn't really seem worth living. Her heart broke every time she heard that song...their song. It broke every time she saw him. The locket was the only thing she had left to remind her of their love. There was also Ethan. But he can never know that Julian is not his father. Ivy sat rocked herself back and forth in her chair trying to comfort herself. Thank god he isn't Julian's son. Ivy thought to herself. At least some way she would always have a part of him he will always be with me. She wrapped her arms around herself. She tried to remember his arms around her, his soft lips brushing against hers, and the smell of his cologne. She tried to remember how if felt to be loved.

Growing up a Crane was the life she always wanted for Ethan. One day he is going to take over Crane industries and be very successful, she thought to herself. "This is the life he was meant to have..and the life he will have," She said out loud. With that said Ivy tucked the locked safely back in her shirt and pressed stop on the CD player. "No one must every know about him...and the love I lost." Ivy put on her nightgown and lay in the satin sheets of her bed all alone. With only memories and thoughts in her mind of the man she loved. As she drifted off to sleep a name passed her lips. A tear rolled down her cheek as she held on to the locket. Before she fell asleep she whispered, "I love you Sam..."
