Tamarind Rice



Ingredients :


2 cups cooked rice
2 tbsp tamarind juice (soak tamarind in water & extract juice from it).
1 tbsp butter / oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
3 whole red chilly
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
salt to taste
5 curry leaves
a bunch of corriander leaves finely chopped
1 small onion

Method :


1. Cook rice with haldi & salt. Set aside.

2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds & allow them to splutter. Then add the cumin seeds, whole red chilly, & curry patta.

3. Add the onions. Cover & cook for 5 minutes.

4. Then, add the tamarind juice to it.

5. Then, lower the flame & add the chillie powder. Add the rice & mix well.

5. Garnish with chopped corriander leaves.
