~My Mask~
A little smile for now maybe.
A laugh at someone’s petty joke.
A sparkle that fades away quickly.
No sign the porcelain has been broke.
A small sense of security.
A quick shrug with no words to say.
A sense of what will never be.
No one can tell the fabric began to fray.
An atmosphere charged with positivity.
Enough good vibes to go around.
A spirit that seems content and free,
No sign of being close to underground.
No selfish acts to see.
So nobody needs to ask.
But since there’s something wrong with me,
I must wear this dishonest mask.
