Garth Brooks is my all time favorite singer. I can sit and listen to his music for hours on end. This is easy for me because I have every CD the man has on the market! I admire all he has done and what his family values are, how he put things in his life on hold with the illness of his mother. My heartfelt condolences are with him on the loss of his mother, Colleen Carroll Brooks, who passed away on August 6, 1999.
I was upset when I heard he was going into retirement, but then I realized when he makes a comeback,(which there is no doubt in my mind he will) he will be bigger than ever before! Hats off to you Garth.. Me and millions of others will be anxiously waiting your return. We love you!!!
His first album, Garth Brooks, was released on April 12, 1989. Then Garth officially signed on with Capitol Records on June 17, 1998. Who would have guessed that he would sky rocket in the Country Western music world? He hit the charts big time with his first # 1 hit, "If Tomorrow Never Comes" which debuted on September 9, 1989.

TRIBUTE TO GARTH
I sit and listen to your music when I'm alone
So many times I catch a tear rolling down my face
I relate to so much of your music
And I can feel your messages loud and clear
The song about your Mama and her terrible ordeal.
I know that pain and dedicated that song
To my own aunt who is battling cancer.
So many broken hearts I've had
Yet you and me got thru them together.
Every single album you put out, I've bought
And I've listened to them hundreds of times.
I never get tired of hearing them.
You are truly the man, my idol...
I'll always be a true and loyal fan.
