THIEF

Why do people take for granted something
so important? so short?
Something so precious; sometimes even vain?
We don't understand the reasoning
Yet we are faced with the pain.
Cancer is the silent monster we all fear
It comes so quick, like a thief in the night
It attacks everyone near and dear...
My aunt battled it twice in '98
She lost one of her breasts but the thief
wasn't taking her
Now it has claimed my friends' Mom
It struck deep and hard, she couldn't go on.
She left kids, a home and family behind
She was always kind...
Lay your head to rest, friend of mine
You're in God's hands now...
The thief will hurt you no more.

We love ya Sharon...We'll miss you
