Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Portia (But Were Afraid To Ask)

Portia is a native of Melbourne, Australia. Born January 31st, 1973, Portia had ambitions of becoming an attorney in her homeland, and was actually studying law at the University of Melbourne when she was approached by producer John Duigan for a small little film called "Sirens". Portia agreed and signed onto the film. It gave her exposure in the U.S. as the film, which also starred Sam Neil, Hugh Grant, and Elle Macpherson, gained critical success.

Deciding to stay in the United States, Portia next took the role of one of the sorority sisters in "Scream 2", and of course, the film was a big hit (coincidence?). She took many other roles in various TV shows and small movies until she landed the role of Nelle Porter in the second season of FOX's "Ally McBeal", and was catapulted into stardom. She was introduced to a whole new audience and made many new fans.

Portia now currently resides in the Los Angeles area with her Maltese dog, Bean.
