CHAPTER 7

Chapter 7 The music that surrounded the room blasted from the speakers. Everyone was talking at once. Leigh held her daughter in her arms as the rest of the family came over to see her. Zac was the first to meet his niece, instantly entertaining her with his still silly self. His girlfriend, however, sat on the sidelines until Zac joined her while Taylor entered the room with his girlfriend. At first, Autumn was a little shy around him, but as soon as Taylor opened his arms to take her in, she instantly fell for her uncle.
"Isaac, I'm having a wonderful time," Leigh said, giggling as she set Autumn down on the floor to play.
"And I am too," Isaac said.
"But Isaac, there is something I think I need to discuss with you," Leigh said carefully.
Isaac looked into her concerned eyes. "All right," he said and excused them into the kitchen. "What's going on?" he asked.
"Take a seat," Leigh said, sitting down and folding her hands on the table. Isaac followed suit and listened on. "Isaac, I'm in need of help," she said.
"What kind?"
"Two actually," Leigh said. "One, I have money problems and two, I need to get away from Kyle," Leigh said, fiddling with a ring.
"Go on," Isaac persisted.
"And I don't want to bother you, but I am asking to stay at your house for a little while," Leigh said.
"All the time you need, you can and you and Autumn shall stay with me for as long as you need," Isaac said, reaching over the table and grabbing her hands. "Besides, I would hope it could bring us back together," he said with a smile and stood up and left Leigh sitting there staring after him.

"This parenting thing is for the birds!" Leigh exclaimed as Isaac came home from work a few months later.
"Hello to you too," Isaac said, kissing Leigh.
"Take her," Leigh said, extending the hip hugger child to her father.
"Someone in a bad mood?" Isaac asked.
"A little. I mean, she cries all day, and I have no clue what to do!" Leigh exclaimed.
"Well Leigh, I'd love to stay, but unfortunately I have to go on a business call," Isaac said, kissing his daughter and handing her back to Leigh.
Leigh stared at Isaac. "Isaac, I've been here all day with Autumn and now you're leaving again?"
"I'm sorry, baby, I have to," Isaac said, unbuttoning his tie and changing into something a little less fancy. "I'll be home around ten," he said, kissing her cheek and walking out the door. Leigh stomped her feet in disgust as Autumn began to cry once again.

"I think we should get going," Leigh said, coming into the room. "I mean, I have to wash up."
"Are you sure you want me to go with you?" Isaac asked.
"I'm sure," she said.
"Okay. Well, I guess we'll see you all later. And Kayla and Katelyn, it was nice meeting you both," Isaac said, smiling and waving. They left the house and hopped into the car.
"I just want to get some stuff, and leave. That's it and nothing more," Leigh said, backing out of the driveway.
"Its okay, Leigh. I'm here," Isaac said gently, placing a hand on hers. She smiled and began driving down the road in silence.
A few minutes later the trio came to Leigh's house. Stepping out of the car, Isaac reached in the backseat for his daughter, holding her up on his hip.
"He's home," Leigh said, staring at his car.
"It's okay, nothing will happen. I'm here," Isaac assured her.
"Isaac, I have a really bad feeling about this," Leigh said as Isaac pushed her to go on.
"Leigh, I'm here, no one will hurt you," he said, trying to urge her to go in.
Shrugging, Leigh opened the door to the house and walked in silently. The two along with Autumn in Isaac's arms was completely quiet. Leigh started for the stairs when she gasped and stared into the eyes of Kyle.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" he asked crudely.
"I'm only here for my belongings and then I'm gone," Leigh said from the bottom of the stairwell.
"I don't think you'll be going anywhere my dear," Kyle snickered as he reached the bottom of the stairs. He reached out for Leigh, but Isaac's hand caught his.
"Is this your new screw, Leigh?" Kyle snarled, his eyes gleaming into Isaac's.
"Fuck you, Kyle," Leigh screamed as she began to run away.
Kyle then bolted after Leigh, but Isaac placed his body between them so he could no longer go after her.
"Move out of my fucking way, you bastard!" Kyle screamed enraged at Isaac.
"I don't think so, Kyle," Isaac said back, staring him down.
"You're dead," was Kyle's last words before he swung at Isaac's head.
The two began to fight, Kyle overpowering Isaac. Isaac managed to swing Kyle off from his back a few times. Kyle then got up from the floor and took Isaac's throat in his hands slamming him against the wall with Leigh and Autumn screaming and crying in the background. Kyle's fist connected with Isaac's jaw, forehead, stomach and nose a few times before Isaac could get any blows to Kyle's jaw and nose.
Kyle then slammed Isaac's body down on the ground back up and began pounding his back where his spine was. Isaac yelled in pain, hearing his love and daughter scramble to him as Kyle got off of him. The last thing Isaac could hear was "It'll be okay, help is on the way."
