Married to Emma Katherine Hoffer in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania
He was a farmer for most of his life before and after the war on the family. He worked at Toyead in Latrobe during World War 2. The company manufactured fuel tanks for military aircraft. After the war he worked at State Forrest and Water Department for a few years.
Died January 1959 in McGinnis Hospital,Ligonier Pa.

Russell T. Frye, 63, died Monday at 2 p.m. in the McGinnis Hospital.Surviving are his widow, Emma Hoffer Frye, three sons, Elmer and Clyde, R.D. 2. and James, Hyattsville, Md; two daughters, Mrs Dorothy Hudock, Alexandria, Va. and Mrs. Helen Rachal, Norfolk, Va; 11 grandchildren, one brother, Emanuel, Johnstown and two sisters,Mrs Myrtle Carnes, Latrobe and Miss Cora Frye, Pittsburg and one Step-sister, Mrs Harry Tosh, R.D. 1. Ligonier also survive.
Services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Wilkinson Funeral Home, in charge of Rev. Rufus Peer. Internment followed in the Ligonier Cemetery.
