(1999) Hope takes place during the second season of the series. The characters of Nicholas, Natalie, Schanke, LaCroix, Janette, Jenny, Myra, and Daniel from Father Figure, will all be featured in this novel.

In this fan fiction, Nick and Schanke pursue a serial killer of teenage girls who uses the "Date-Rape" drug to kill his victims. As this is happening, Nick has begun to question whether being a vampire is really that bad. Maybe he can live in both the vampire and the mortal world without conflict. However, Natalie pleads with him to keep trying for a cure. She has an idea that might just work, but it will require a commitment from Nick that may be too much to ask.

As the partners draw close to finding the killer, Schanke’s daughter Jenny will become the killer’s next target. As this happens, Nick, while viewing this senseless slaughter of innocence will be forced to relive all the terrible events that centered around the time Daniel, the child vampire, was brought across by LaCroix in London during World War 11.
