It's a Brave New World!

Isn't this set a riot? Picked it up at Full Moon Graphics, of course. Ok, so maybe it doesn't fit the topic, but hey! It's the end of the school year, it's all about having fun, right? (My teachers wouldn't agree.)

So anyway, it's the end of the school year! Yahoooooo! I don't know how much more I would've been able to take. Eight and a half days to go from today. This week has been terrible, and it's only Tuesday. *Groan* I finished my interior design project (I could've designed another room for extra credit, but I didn't have any more ideas, and I ran out of time. I've got thirty extra credit points anyway from three extra rooms). My chorus concert was last night, including me playing in the bell choir for one piece and singing in a solo group for another, and having to look REALLY nice, like prom gown formal. Dressing up was fun, but it didn't help calm me down any. I was so tired after the concert last night that I probably fell asleep within two minutes after I turned out my light, which is VERY unusual for Miss Insomnia.

And that was the fun stuff.

I have to give a eight to ten minute speech in English class this week (probably Thursday), I have to finish reading All Quiet on the Western Front by Friday (I'm on chapter 6) and I have an essay due, all in the same class! Next week we're discussing All Quiet and reading Antigone. We have yet to turn in our Night books, which argues that we may have an essay or something to do yet (all I can say is, we'd better not!). I had to give a presentation of Theorem 10-1 in geometry today; luckily, it was quick and painless. However, I'm like, one of the only ones in the class that didn't have a partner, b/c I don't have any friends in there. Grrrrr. Rather embarassing. Also, chem finals are this week, and I decided I'm not going to stress. It's five days of chem crap, and if you get a zero on the WHOLE THING, the worst it can do is drop you a letter grade, which'll get me a C. I'll have a B average anyway, so I decided I don't care.

The ballet my studio is putting on this year is going to be held at the high school, and we wanted to advertise in the school, but if we do, we're going to have to HURRY!

Here's my point: What happened to elementary school, when the end of the year was when you did all the fun activities and had June Fete and stuff? The past couple of years, the end of the school year is a time for teachers to RUSH THEIR BUTTS OFF and stress out their students to try and get all the work done that they were supposed to do earlier. I actually liked some of my classes at the beginning of the year that I really can't stand now, like English. I mean, we were supposed to do a week or two on Oedipus Rex and ended up doing a month or two. I intend to make a career out of creative writing, and besides Scholastic, we had ONE, count 'em, ONE creative writing assignment ALL YEAR. And frankly, my teacher wasn't expecting much. I NEED someone to say, 'this plot is crap'. Ya know? REOW GRR HISS FFFTTT.

Well, it's nearly over, I guess. I need some sleep. Happy end of the year, everybody!

PS: It took me this long to get used to being a sophomore. Now I've got to get used to being a junior. How one's childhood does fly! Someobdy asked me several months ago what grade I was in now, and I said, "eighth". Geez.
