WOLF DEN ARCHIEVES

1999-2000 SCOUTING YEAR

BEARS...HERE WE COME!

March-2-3-4! Danny, Tim, and Georgie all participated in Tinicum Township's Memorial Day Parade held on Monday, May 30, 2000.

Georgie and Tim went to the Franklin Institute's Camp In 2000. We learned about flight, "Liquid Air," morse code, radios, and lots more. We even looked through a giant telescope on the Franklin Institute's roof and saw a star! But, our favorite activity was the Virtual Reality Soccer -- you are the goalie, you watch the screen and try to stop the virtual balls from going in the goal using your hands, feet, and body -- IT WAS THE COOLEST! Georgie got the second highest score of the Pack.

Our last Den Meeting as Wolves will be on Monday, May 22. During this meeting, we will finish up Elective 18 - Outdoor Adventure - by working on a Treasure Hunt.

We all had a great time at the Car Wash held at the Lester Fire House on Saturday, May 22nd. Even with all the rain we had, we still made $195!

Our May Pack Meeting was alot of fun! We played a game of wiffle ball, tug-o-war, and ballon relay race! Tim received a Silver Arrow Point, World Conservation Badge, and Baseball Belt Loop. Ryan received his Bowling Belt Loop and 7 Silver Arrow Points. Georgie received 2 Silver Arrow Points, Baseball Pin, World Conservation Badge, and Bowling Belt Loop. Danny received 2 Silver Arrow Points, Baseball Pin, World Conservation Badge, and Bowling Belt Loop. THE WOLVES ARE THE BEST!

The Den Meeting on May 15th, we began on Elective 18 - Outdoor Adventure. We learned about poison ivy, oak, and sumac -- STAY AWAY! We also plotted a Obstacle Course -- it will be run during our Blue and Gold.

On May 8, we will work on Elective 9 - Let's Have A Party. We will use this meeting as preparation of our Blue and Gold Graduation Banquet. The Wolves will be making candy roses for all adults attending.

Cleaning Day on April 30 was a great success! Danny and his whole family, Tim and his mom, and Georgie and his mom and brother all pitched in to help clean! WOW, the cabin looks GREAT! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT HELPED OUT!

At April's Pack Meeting, we lead a sing-a-long. Everyone had a good time singing "Shaving Cream," "Gopher Guts," "The Star Spangled Banner," "Taps," "Baby Bumble Bee," and "On Top of Spaghetti."

We received alot of advancements: Georgie (6 Silver Arrow Points and Marbles Belt Loop), Danny (2 Silver Arrow Points, Marbles Belt Loop, and Computer Belt Loop), Ryan (Gold Arrow Point and Marbles Belt Loop), and Tim (6 Silver Arrow Points and Marbles Belt Loop). WE ARE PHAT!

The Den Meeting held on Monday, April 17th had poor attendance - only 2 cubs. However, we did work on Elective 17, Tie It Right - wrapping a gift and Elective 11, Sing-A-Long. Some of the songs are: America, Star Spangled Banner, Shaving Cream, Baby Bumble Bee, and Good Night, Cub Scouts. We will be singing these songs at the April Pack Meeting. This coming Monday we will have an extra meeting so we can practice.

On Monday, April 10--we will try to fit two Electives into our Den Meeting - Elective 17, Tie It Right, and Elective 22, Say It Right.

Our March 27 Den Meeting was jam-packed, not only did we plant vegetables and flowers for Elective 15, Grow Something---we also earned our Marbles Belt Loop!

WOW! The Wolf Den certainly works well together and proved that during the Loder Family Benefit Dinner on March 26. We had 100% participation--way to go boys!

At the March Pack Meeting, we did a skit called "The Enlargening Machine." The audience loved it. We even did an encore performance. It was fun designing the enlargening machine and performing. Georgie and Tim received their Gold Arrow Points. Danny received 3 Silver Arrow Points. Ryan received his Wolf Badge. Now all of us are 'officially' Wolf Cubs!

During our Joe Corbi's Pizza Fundraiser, Danny and Georgie both sold 20 kits each and were the second highest sellers in the Pack. Great job boys!

On March 13th, we worked on Elective #12 - Be An Artist. We drew a sketch of what we thought the "Enlargening Machine" should look like, drew cartoons, mixed paints to make different colors, and started making the "Enlargening Machine" for our skit. Next Monday, we will meet to finish up the machine and work on our skit.

Today (March 6), we began working on Elective #2 - Be An Actor. We're going to put on a skit "The Enlargening Machine" at our March 21st Pack Meeting. For our gathering period, we made paper bag hand puppets. We decided who would play who in the skit, designed our scencery (the machine) and costumes, and practiced reading through our lines. Next week (March 13), we will actually build and paint the machine as part of Elective #12 - Be An Artist.

At February 21 Den Meeting, we worked on Elective #8 - Machine Power. We named 10 different constuction trucks, made a windlass, discovered how a pulley worked, and played a game with a wheelbarrow.

At February's Pack Meeting, Georgie and Tim earned their Wolf Badges! Ryan is only one Achievement away. Danny has also earned his Gold Arrow Point. Congratulations!

Our Pinewood Derby was held on February 15th and Danny took 2nd Place!
