Harvick to drive RCR Chevy

Reigning NASCAR Busch Series rookie of the year Kevin Harvick will drive the Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, formerly driven by Dale Earnhardt, in Sunday's Dura Lube/Big Kmart 400 at North Carolina Speedway. Earnhardt was killed in a last-lap accident during Sunday's Daytona 500.

Kevin Harvick will drive for RCR beginning this week.

The car will be white instead of black, and will be No. 29 instead of No. 3. It will, however, still carry the GM Goodwrench sponsorship.

Harvick at Daytona announced his intention of running seven Winston Cup races in 2001, in preparation for a full slate in 2002 with sponsor America Online in the No. 30 RCR Chevrolet.

Hills Bros considering change

Hills Bros. Coffee is considering running two cars in several upcoming races. The coffee manufacturer, which is the full time sponsor of the No. 90 Ford driven by Hut Stricklin, has plans to sponsor Kenny Wallace's No. 27 Pontiac as well.

Rumor has it they won't be on the car this weekend at Rockingham, but have plans to be on the Eel River machine at Las Vegas, where Wallace is a candidate for the No Bull 5 Million Dollar Bonus.

Hills Bros. sponsored Wallace during the Daytona 500 after Stricklin failed to make the show. Wallace finished 25th.
