2nd Annual Sikh American Awareness Day Parade (Nagar Kirtan)

"Now we are living in a time when fear is dominating. Afraid of making mistakes which can harm us." If we can learn to draw upon the opportunities each day to live mindfully and touch our spiritual dimension, it would lessen the fear and enhance our clarity. As Sikh American citizens, we also share the same fear and concern as other Americans citizens.   Some individuals have mistakenly directed their anger and anxiety towards Sikh Americans and continue to do so. Many innocent Sikh Americans have become victims of these hate crimes due to their appearances.  Through your Media presence we want to raise awareness of the unique identity of Sikh Americans. The Sikh Faith teaches us the principles of freedom, equality, and justice. The same principles this great democracy of America is founded on. As stated by our Ten Sikh Gurus

“Manas Ke Jat, Sabhe Ikkey pechanabo” Recognize ye all human race as one.”

Truth is the highest virtue but higher still is the truthful living. (Sikh Guru’s).

Globally, the only people wear ‘Turbans’ are the follower of the “Sikh Religion” Sikhs are from Northern India (Punjab) and are neither Hindus nor Muslims.

Once again, I welcome you all to join us on this a ‘very special occasion’, I look forward to see and greet each of you and to celebrate this 2nd Sikh American Awareness Day Parade (Nagaar Kirtan) jointly together.

Best Wishes,

Paramjitinder Singh Dhillon (PJ)

President
