Attack Information
Toxic causes the opponent to be Poisoned. Unlike other moves that cause a pokemon to be poisoned, the poison damage will start at 1/16th of the pokemon's total HP (by integer division). The amount of poison damage dealt will increase every turn by 1/16th of the pokemon's total HP (by integer division). This means that the damage dealt will be 2/16th of the total HP on the second round of poisoning, 3/16th on the third, 4/16th on the fourth, etc.

The increased amount of poisoning can be negated by having the poisoned pokemon switching out normally. If that is done, when the pokemon who has been affected is switched back in, the poison damage that they receive will be the standard amount for poisoning. The increasing rate of poison damage cannot be reinflicted unless that pokemon has their status returned to normal and had Toxic used on them again, or if a pokemon that has been hit by Toxic switches to the poisoned pokemon via Baton Pass.

Toxic is affected by Brightpowder when the opposing pokémon is equipped with it.
