How do I adopt a dog that I see on this or Hillside's site?
Read Hillside's

No out-of-state adoptions!
What does it mean to get your dog/cat spayed/neutered/fixed?
Mainly it means to remove the
sex organs so that a female can't get pregnant(spayed), and a male can't
get any females pregnant(neutered). Females have their lower body (if they
stood up on their back legs) shaved, on their stomaches(belly, tummy, whatever.)
and back legs. Then a cut is made and the ovaries are taken out. The cut
is stitched together, usually with self-dissolving stitches so they don't
have to be taken out, and they can go back home. Males are just anesthized
(?) and their testicles are cut off. Usually they are groggy for about
a day because of the anesthesia. Eventually the hair grows back for females,
I don't think males are shaved, and they are back to normal! If you don't
get your pet fixed, they may get others pregnant or become pregnant if
they ever get out. This adds to the extreme overpopulation that there already
is. Females can go into heat, and then you have unwanted males hanging
around your house and have to be even more careful that your female doesn't
get out.

Hillside's Spay/Neuter info.
How do I get my dog/cat fixed?
Go to your vet or Animal Shelter, some shelters have a program, or they could reccommend a vet or other shelter where you can get it done.
It depends on where you go. Some shelters have a program, where if you adopt a pet that's not fixed yet, you get a refund after you get them fixed.
