Site Updates

January 23, 2001

I posted a message about a Memorial Fund. A few weeks ago when an idiot went on a rampage at Edgewater Technologies and killed seven, he harmed more than just those victims. Jennifer Bragg Capobianco, 24, was one of those innocent people shot and killed. Jennifer leaves behind a husband and a 10-month year old daughter, Eva. A fund was set-up in the attempt to make some good out of such a horrific event. Jeff's colleagues at Boston EMS and friends of Jennifer decided to come up with a fund to help support Jeff and Eva, as well as a portion going to fund violence prevention programs and initiatives. It is a great cause in memory of a great person, so please be generous. For more information, as well as an address, please click here. This link will take you to the EMS Page on this website where information can be found. On this page is a letter explaining the fund more in-depth, as well as a mailing address.

In addition to posting that message, I am working a special request for a website viewer. I am hoping to have this done by the end of the week. I will also be updating on a few occasions this week.

December 16, 2000

I decorated the entrance page for the Christmas Holiday. I also decided to start a project for this website. Over the past few weeks, alot of people have been e-mailing me about MDTs. For those of you who don't know, MDT stands for "Mobile Data Terminal" and they are mounted in each of the PFD's 37 Medic Units, as well as ES-4 and ES-5. I, personally, do not know much about them. A few Philadelphia Fire Department Medics have been helping me, as well as Paramedics from other Cities and other EMS Organizations throughout the US. Be on the look-out for this page in early January. I am doing some in-depth research on how the PFD used them and how other EMS Agencies use them. If you have any information on them, please e-mail me. I'm also looking for pictures of them, so if you have them, please send them! Thanks and have a HAPPY HOLIDAY!

December 10, 2000

Today I added a page for Medic 2. This is the first Medic Unit company page I've put up. I have plenty of Medic Unit pages I hope to set up soon. On that list are Medic 1, Medic 8, Medic 9, Medic 13, Medic 14, Medic 15, Medic 31, Medic 32, Medic 33, Medic 35, and Medic 36. They're pages are practically done, all I have to do is make some last-minute changes and add pictures. So look out for them later this week!

December 9, 2000

I have added new photos to the following pages: Tower Ladder 4, Ladder 12, Engine 1, Pipeline 6, Pipeline 28, and Pipeline 50.

I also added a link to Firegroundphotos.net. It is a GREAT site which features both Fireground and Apparatus shots from the Boston FD and FDNY, as well as other Massachusetts fire departments. Definitely check this site out, you will be impressed!

On the agenda for tomorrow, is hopefully to get a company page up for Medic 2, but I'm not promising since I will be sorta busy tomorrow. I will TRY though. I will also be decorating the site for Christmas in the next few days! Take care everyone and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

December 6, 2000

A "Contract Timeline" has been set-up on the website. Here you will find a daily timeline, obviously updated daily, to keep everyone posted on how the Firefighters and Paramedics are getting shut down by Mayor John Street by not honoring the contract. The City apparently can't afford the contract, which was done through binding arbritration, because of the recent Stadium deals for the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.

Good luck to all the members of Local 22 IAFF, maybe Street will realize what a mistake he's making. Also good luck especially to Mary Kohler and Norm Stabinski, who are sitting vigil outside of John Street's office. Hang tough!

December 2, 2000

I added two photos, one of Medic 36 and Battalion 13. Both are NEW apparatus recently delivered to the PFD. Both photos are courtesy of Greg Masi and can be seen on the index page of the website!

November 27, 2000

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a very pleasant Thanksgiving holiday, I know I did! I got back to business today, getting a new company page up for Pipeline 20 and I added a new background to all the pages. Let me know what you think of it! While I was away, it was busy, with 2 extra alarms. The first occured at Emerald and York Streets, in Engine 2's local. It went for a total of 4-alarms. Pictures of this job were contributed by Brian Feeney, so I will have them up either tonight or tomorrow afternoon. The second occured at the same place, again going for 4-alarms. See ya later!

November 20, 2000

I didn't do any major updates, yet, only added some links for you to check out. One link I added was for the Washington D.C Fire Department, DCFD.com. It's a great website, filled with alot of information, as well as great pictures! I also added a link to the Greenwood Fire Department, based in Moosic, Pennsylvania. Be sure to check this out too, great apparatus! Look out within the next few days for new histories, as well as new pictures! The website will not be updated from November 22 to November 27, as I will be away for the holiday.

November 8, 2000

I added an Exclusive section to this site. I received permission from American LaFrance to post pictures of the Philadelphia TDAs and Squrts. I would like to thank American LaFrance for allowing me to do so, it is greatly appreciated! To view the page, Click here!

I'm also working on trying to get some other great things for this website, as well as possibly "merging" with another website. News on that later if it even happens.

October 22, 2000

Today I added Photo Galleries for Charles Herbert, Chris Masi, and Greg Masi. All Galleries are still under construction since I still have plenty of other photos to add to them. I also broke Jack Wright's Photo Gallery into 5. The reason is because Jack has submitted ALOT of pictures and they would all be hard to view all in one gallery, the loading time would be extremely high. Therefore, I broke them down into: Gallery 1 (Engines), Gallery 2 (Ladders), Gallery 3 (Medics), Gallery 4 (Chiefs), Gallery 5 (Special Units). Be advised there are no photos in Gallery 5, but I hope to put in Rescue 1, Hazmat 1, and Field Com 2 tomorrow afternoon/late evening.

October 17, 2000

EMS Page is OPEN! Click here to check it out! It's still UNDER ALOT OF CONSTRUCTION! Also, I added a new Fire Photo Gallery, from Jim Bonner of Philadelphia Fire Films. Check it out! Right now, the pics are from Oct. 17th, the 3-alarmer from 2nd & Lehigh!

September 28, 2000

I added yet another company page today, with Pat's history. This time I added Engine 36. I also added a link on the Links Page to an awesome website that is worth checking out, www.rescue911.de. In addition to that, I also continued working on the EMS Page and it is progressing well. I'm trying to set a deadline for it's opening, but I am still working hard on it, so a deadline has not yet been set.

September 27, 2000

Well I finally got the Company Pages back up and running! If you find any problems with them, PLEASE report them immediately!

Also, I'd like to thank Pat Turner for sacrificing his time to help me out with this site. Pat is now in charge of writing the Company History on each of the Company Pages. Thanks Pat!

I also got a new page up today for Pipeline 50. Check it out!!

September 9, 2000

Hello! Well sorry that "Company Pages and Apparatus Pictures are not up yet, but I'm having technical difficulties and the company is helping me out with it. I hope to have this problem worked out very soon!

I am continuing to work on the EMS Page and it is progressing rather well. I am trying to have a deadline for unveiling it on October 1. But, we'll see what happens. Take care!

September 4, 2000

Hello. Today I placed the "Company Pages and Apparatus Pictures" Out Of Service for a few days. There is a bug that needs to be worked out, but I do not anticipate it to last any longer than Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Photo Gallery's for each contributor to this website are open still and I encourage you to take a look at them. You can access them by going to the "Site Credits" page.

September 2, 2000

Hello everyone! Today I added a gallery for a website contributor, Lt. R. Bratcher from ES-4. To view his gallery, you can Click here.

I am going to try to do some more work on the website later today.
