The Incas were an advanced
civilization that migrated from the Andes in 1200 A.D. They then proceeded
to take over many tribes in the surrounding area. As they conquered, they
adapted knowledge of the tribes while enforcing their own beliefs and religion.
Within one hundred years the Incas had a civilization from northern Ecuador
to Chile, so as you can see, they were quite powerful (Ruiz, 1997).
