Doris Lois Derby, 68, of Walnut Street, Luzerne, died Monday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born March 31, 1932, in Luzerne, she was a daughter of the late William and Beatrice (Whitson) Zimmerman. She attended Luzerne High School, worked for the United Pants Co., Swoyersville, and was a member of Holy Family Community Church, the former Sacred Heart Church, Luzerne.

Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Bernard, Sr.; son, Bernard, Luzerne; daughter, Karen Brieling, Luzerne; five grandchildren; sisters Beatrice Barber, Plains Township; Betty Southern, Oneonta, NY; and Laura LaGrue, Pittston; brothers, John Zimmerman, Harford; Harry Zimmerman, Midway Park, NC; and Walter Zimmerman, Luzerne; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 8:30 A.M. Thursday from the George A. Strish Funeral Home, 269 Bennett Street, Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. at Holy Family Community Church, the former Sacred Heart Church, Luzerne. Interment will be in Orcutts Grove Cemetery, Noxen. Friends may call from 7 to 9 P.M. today. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Deborah Hospital Foundation, Pennsylvania Region, 212 Trenton, Browns Mills, NJ, 08015.
