Bessie Mae Harris, 69, a former resident of Valley View High Rise, Wilkes-Barre, died Friday afternoon in Summit Health Care Center, Wilkes-Barre, where she had been a guest for the past seven years.
Born in Johnstown, July 25, 1923, she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah Price Zimmerman.
She was a member of the Albright United Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre. She had been active in many of the church groups in the past.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Sr.; sister, Gertrude Washney.
Surviving are sons, Vincent M. Jr., Mifflinberg; Dale E., Ashley; daughter, Mrs. Linda Slater, Wilkes-Barre; brothers, Albert Zimmerman, Waco, Texas; William Zimmerman, Bloomfield, N.J.; Floyd Brown, Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Mrs. Bertha Yuskoski, Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Sally Gilbert, Waco, Texas; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at a time to be announced in Albright United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert G. Wood, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Luther M. Kniffen Funeral Home, 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre.
