After tryouts the members of the squad with the highest scores have the opportunity to become soloists and perhaps even get the opportunity to have some of thier own choreography in the show.

Sometimes we have too much fun...so i have to start with my unique seniors who i will miss so much in the future...
Here we have the birth of Meg and Dana...and yes that would be Ponz as thier mom...i guess. This is the night they made up thier own skits for the band.

When you are selected as captain or drum major you may attend the Fred J. Miller Clinic at the University of Pittsburgh Greensburg campus.

These are my girls...even after a hard couple of weeks at band camp plus extra practices with me they all can still smile for the camera.
Even though i yell i still give them water breaks!!! They really are hard workers!!!!

Our first performance...the Kennywood Parade with the brand new parade routine...
Our new poms weren't in yet so we had to use those damn 1980's Flash Gloves...the girls took it in stride though and just laughed about it...

Ok this is a keeper...here I am with my cousin Deanne who coaches the Rifles, Silks, and Sabers and our Ringgold Band Booster President Connie along with some of our girls IN the fountain in lost Kennywood. Yes ladies and gemtleman I said IN the fountian. They had closed all the water rides after the parade and we were really hot so we jumped in...not once...not twice...but 3 times. oh and i hit my head the one time when my girls held my ankles and dunked me so i had a huge lump on my forhead the rest of the night, but at least we had fun, and got cooled off.

Congratulations girls...people said that i would loose over half of the squad if i tried to make you dance and try to develop new ideas...I'm so glad you all proved them wrong and came together and worked like a family despite all of your differences. I will remember everyone of you for the rest of my life because each one of you put your own spark into making what this squad is today. I hope i can be there with you all this spring and in the years to come!!!
