2003
Outlook: Heath Ellenberger must have done something
right in 2002. He went from Mr. Irrelevant to the number
8 choice overall and Team Smacker's second draft pick.
The combination of his ADD, Creatine, rage, fury,
aggressiveness, and strength were deadly last year as he
sailed shots over the roof unexpectedly. Expected to bat
3rd or 4th in the lineup, he will be expected to drive
in runs this year. He should come through. Heath also
developed the push-pitch which was surprisingly
effective. He could win up to 5 games this year and be a
great compliment to Means on the mound for Team Smacker.
About
Heath Ellenberger: Heath has the natural ability to play well in the AWBL. A seasoned athlete, has speed, stregth and coordination. Should be able to run bases, hit for average, and play solidly in the field. Not known for being a gifted baseball player, will need to prove himself. Being the last draft pick in the entire 2002 AWBL draft should take some pressure off him.
2002 Outlook: Being the last overall draft pick, Mr. Irrelevant, takes pressure off Ellenberger's shoulders that other players will have to deal with. Eventually, he will be called upon to step in, but won't be expected to do much. If he can use his athleticism to produce and play effectively, he could be an important utility player for the most talented team in the league, Team Smacker. It is yet to be seen whether he actually can hit, but his coordination should help him to be an above average fielder.
