The CWF debuted in Avella on Saturday February 23 for the first annual Avella EagleMania live event and everyone was thrilled to be in Avella!
Here are the quick results of the show:
Brock Singleton won an Avella Rumble match to earn a CWF Heavyweight title shot later in the night against defending champion “Big Time” Bill Collier
In only the third women’s match in CWF history, Angeldust defeated Brittany Force in a fast-paced, closely fought match.
CWF Tag Team Champion Sniper (accompanied by Mayor Mystery and CWF Tag Team Champion Nasty Nick) defeated Justin Sane in a one-on-one match following some assistance from Nasty Nick. Commissioner LeGrande came out and made a tag team title match later in the night of CWF Tag Team Champions The Mercenaries (Sniper and Nasty Nick) with Mayor Mystery versus Justin Sane and a partner of his choosing.
CWF Mon Valley Champion “Hot Stuff” Chris Marx defeated “Sugar” Steve Flash to retain the title; after the match Doug Diggler, who was scouting talent, joined with Marx in a post-match beat down of Flash. Powerhouse Hughes made the save and asked the fans in attendance to vote Diggler to be his opponent that night.
Powerhouse Hughes defeated Doug Diggler; “Hot Stuff” Chris Marx was barred from ringside. Despite not really being ready to compete, Doug Diggler gave it his best but his best was not enough to overcome Powerhouse Hughes on this night as Powerhouse pinned Diggler following a powerful chokeslam.
Party Gras (Lord Zoltan and Justin Sane) defeated CWF Tag Team Champions The Mercenaries (Sniper and Nasty Nick) with Mayor Mystery via disqualification. Since CWF titles can only change hands via pinfall or submission, The Mercenaries remain CWF Tag Team Champions
Kato defeated Façade. In a match that had fans on the edge of their seats, Kato overcame a very game Façade in a back and forth contest that earned both men the respect of the fans as well as each other.
CWF Heavyweight Champion “Big Time” Bill Collier defeated Brock Singleton to retain the CWF Heavyweight Championship. In a battle of two of the biggest men in the CWF, Singleton looked to regain the CWF Heavyweight Championship he lost to “Big Time” under controversial circumstances back in July 2012.
Despite the referee getting a little too close to the action near the end of the match, Collier was able to persevere and prove that his CWF title victory in July 2012 was no fluke and he belong atop the CWF mountain.
