VG Day: Tournaments!
Fall VG Day 2004
_______Main___Event___Day Games___Tournaments___Voting___Sponsors!___Directions___Rules_______
Though the Day Games are meant to be the focus of the event, some people attend VG Day solely to participate in the many tournaments held.
This Fall, we will be repeating the more popular tournaments, and also adding a few new ones.
The Halo tournaments and the DDR divisions are $2.00 (plus the admission fee). All other tournaments are $1.00. These prices were decided based on the popularity of the last VGDay and the cost of the prizes. Plain and simple, the prizes are worth a lot of money.
Each tournament has a prize (or prizes) that will be awarded to the player who places first in a given tournament. If we have more prizes we will be giving away second place prizes. Based on the number of sponsors we have this will probably go into effect.
Each tournaments' registration will close one hour before the tournament is scheduled to begin except DDR and Team Halo. All DDR registration must be completed at 1:00 for qualifying rounds and Team Halo will end at 3:00 so there will be no time restraints.
Here is the tournament schedule. It was made to reduced the number of missing players when names are called.(Keep reading for basic tournament rules.

In the PS2 Slot marked simply as "Sport", there will be a tournament for either NBA Live or NFL Street, whichever is more promising.
Tournament Times:
Mario Kart Double Dash (NGC) - 4 Player "vs" Mode 1:00 pm
Soul Calibur 2 (NGC) - 2 Player "vs" Mode 5:00 pm
Super Smash Bros Melee (NGC) - 4 Player Free for all 3:00 pm
Halo: Combat Evolved (Xbox) - Individual Slayer to 15 Kills 1:00 pm
Halo: Combat Evolved (Xbox) - Team Slayer to 25 Kills 5:00 pm
DDRMax2 Light Division (PS2) - 2 Player "vs" Mode 2:00 pm
DDRMax2 Standard Division (PS2) - 2 Player "vs" Mode 4:00 pm
DDRMax2 Heavy Division (PS2) - 2 Player "vs" Mode 6:00 pm
DDRMax Doubles Division (PS2) - Doubles Mode 3:00 pm
DDRMax Freestyle Division (PS2) - Singles Mode 5:00 pm
*Sport Game which will be desided later* (PS2) - 2:30 pm
If a tournament gets less than 8 people, it will be cancelled except for Team Halo and DDR Heavy division. The prizes from any cancelled tournaments will be reallocated with the exception of cash prizes.
If a tournament you entered is cancelled you will get your tournament fee back and will be allowed to enter another tournament for free. Only one tournament for free. For instance, you cannot enter the DDR doubles ($2.00) then try to enter two $1.00 tournaments.
Anyone caught cheating will automatically be disqualified without a refund.
If your name is called and you are not present you will be excused once. The second time you are not present you will be disqualified without a refund. The only reason that will be excepted is if the person was in another tournament.
All rules can be found on the Rules Page. This includes rules on each tournament. During the event the rules for each tournament will be brief but not specific and no questions will be answered so look into it!
All of the games listed will be able to be played for people who paid admission only but they will only be available during the breaks in between tournaments.
Any games with the potential to run extremely long will be timed. This includes any Shooters, Sports, or the like. It is assumed that racing and (traditional)fighting games will not take more that a short few minutes (Fighters will probably be set to infinite time, under the idea that fights are short anyway)
This is to make sure that tournaments don't run over the available time. The same concept will be in effect for the Day Games to make sure that everyone gets a chance to play.
